    I havent noticed that music to be annoying really, reminds me of The Sims music. As for Red Steel, my brother seems to love it and for the controls, well ill wait until we get rid of our Christmas tree first (Supposedly baubles mess up infrared signals).

    Actually, if anything, it would mess up with the wiimote, the sensor bar is just 2 IR lights, the Wiimote is doing all the recieving :X The "proof" of this is the fact that you can apparently replace the sensor bar with 2 candles:

    So don't you mean the sensor bar is doing all the <b>transmitting</b>? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Ooooooooh. I am having a really hard time finding any nunchucks in shops, they are sold out on the whole internet and all the cities I've been to don't seem to have any. Most places were saying 1-2 weeks before the stock gets in. Super smash needs a nunchuck yes?

    Probably, I don't know, not much info out officially, but afaik, they want to refrain from adding motion sensing controls from last I heard, so yes, probably <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    But there's no hurry, they've only said they want to release it in 2007, not when, and I'd imagine we'd know the specific release date some time before the actual release <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    i remember reading somewhere that smash bros will use a gamecube controller or the classic controller, and not the wiimote at all. which i think is good because i dont know how they could do everything smash bros does with a wiimote and no motion controls.

    Regarding handedness:

    WiiSports lets you pick right- or left-handedness for all aspects of play (it even has the foresight to let people pitch and bat differently). Being a lefty, I've played pretty much everything with the remote in my left hand, and when I sat down with Twilight Princess the other day I was abruptly faced with a challenge: keep the aiming part of the controller in my left hand, or yield to my instincts and put the D-pad back in my left hand, where it's been since I was but a wee lad.

    I tried putting the remote in my right hand... it just didn't make sense to my brain. The remote was already comfortable in my left hand, and I had zero ability to aim quickly and accurately with my right hand.

    So now I'm playing Twilight Princess as Link would have -- left-handed. And it works fine! It's very gratifying to know that more likely than not, I'll be able to play many (if not all) games left-handed without any adverse effects. And seeing as each piece of the controller is symmetrical (identical whether held in your left or right hand), I have a feeling Twilight Princess isn't just an exception.

    Neat! A left-handed gaming console! (;

    Added my friend code to the sticky. I'll add people once I've got the Wii set up again (it's packed from traveling over the holiday).

    OK, I have now finished Red Steel......

    And my personal opinion? Its awesome. (No really it is!) However, in order to get to the awesome you need to get used to the control system. (Which can be very hard.) And get past the first bit and get to Tokyo. Once you get there, the game just opens up an amazing amount of fun and the story becomes more interesting.

    I mean, theres nothing like flipping a table up, hiding behind it, jumping over it, slowing down time, shooting the weapons out of a Yakuza boss's (who is dressed as a Schoolgirl) hands and then getting him and his gang to surrender by waving the Wii-mote at him and then swordfighting some power rangers.
    The game just oozes style due to some amazingly designed levels and set-pieces, but you've got to fight through some fairly annoying bits to get there.

    It still has problems. Sensivity isn't all that great and a few bits lead a lot to be desired (like the start of the game.) But the game is solid, you've just really got to stick with it in order to get to the good bits. And thats the main problem. But, as they're making a sequel (apparently) they should be able to fix all those. And then I can go back to more sword fights with interesting characters.

    So if you played it for a bit and gave up, turn the aiming sensitivity down, attempt to get to grips with the controls and try and make your way to Tokyo and the super awesomeness that follows. Hopefully, you'll find out its worth it!

    My one-afternoon review of Elebits:

    I rented Elebits and my girlfriend and I gave it a runthrough this afternoon. After a fumbling 2-player round, we took turns playing the single-player game and beat all levels up to and including the kitchen, which is the first level to introduce the noise meter (5th or 6th in the game)

    Gameplay is interesting (if occasionally frustrating -- I'm looking at you, Level 4) and varied, though the basic mechanics never change. There are two things that keep you from progressing within a level: locked doors and heavy furniture. Capturing Elebits increases your total watts, which eventually unlocks doors and activates appliances (which can then be turned on to release Power Elebits). Collecting Power Elebits increases your gun's power, allowing you to lift heavier objects. So, basic gameplay is as follows:
    1) Move objects and collect Elebits to open doors and access appliances
    2) Activate appliances to increase your gun's power so you can lift heavier objects
    3) Goto 1

    In each level are three Pink Elebits, which unlock bonus features for each level. One is hiding behind something, one is hiding inside something, and the last only appears after certain (undefined) conditions are met.

    Replay is excellent, even in the single player game alone. There is far more to do in each stage beyond the simple wattage requirement to progress (for instance, in the first level there is an appliance that activates at 400w above the victory requirement). You can also do a "Challenge" in each stage -- the kitchen challenge (the only one I looked at) requires that you disassemble a tower of cups to find a single Elebit (1) within 1 minute and (2) without making too much noise. There's the edit mode, score attack, "eternal" (no time) mode, and of course multiplayer modes.

    My girlfriend loves it, so we might end up buying it. If it were just me, I probably wouldn't. It's a deep game with a lot about it, but it's not quite my style.

    Got a question about Elebits? The best I can say is rent it. It's a good game. Whether or not it's a good game *for you* is up to you.

    I've been looking through some screenshots of the Wii I found online whilst just browsing for pictures of Miis people have created and I stumbled upon this:

    <img src="http://files.myopera.com/seaempty/albums/122547/wiimenu6_image.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    From the looks of it, both Super Mario World and Zelda: link to the past are both going to come to the Wii at a later date unless this picture has been photoshopped. The picture is part of a gallery with lots of Wii images and it fits right in so I doubt it is photoshopped in any way.

    A quick Google shows Super Mario Bros. is avaliable in American, not Super Mario World.

    I want Super Mario Bros. to come out over here anyway <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    I don't think that's photoshopped, I think that's a screenshot Nintendo released many many months ago. Note how the weather and Internet channels have changed
