<div class="IPBDescription">:D</div>I have the best mom on earth!
In an entirely related note, I got my Wii!

Last night I was talking to my mom and I mentioned I might try to go get in line at Target to try and get a Wii. She decided she'd go to the one near their house and stand in line too! I had no luck, but she was #12 of 14 at her Target! Thanks to mom, I got one!

<3 Moms

So I drove down to my parents house to pick it up and decided to just spend the day over there (a visit is the least I can do after alll...). But of course I hooked up the Wii to the TV and showed off Wii Sports to them. My dad loves Golf & Bowling, and even my mom loves bowling.

And they both kicked my ###### at bowling too. I eventually got better, but they started out bowling 150+. (They've both bowled for years and years. Hell, they met in a bowling alley).

Nintendo has hit gold with this thing, that's for sure...

I haven't decided if I'm going to pick up a Wii on release day yet. It's three days away here.

Congrats doomeh! Give us a review of any games you picked up when you've had a chance to play them.

Congratulations on getting yourself a Wii DOOM. I'm still waiting on my component cables (I refuse to go any further in Zelda before I get them). They should be shipping out tomorrow though, so hopefully I'll have them by Friday. Then its 480p goodness for me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Moms are definitely the win. I had made plans to meet up with a friend in the city on launch day (preferably after getting/not getting a wii), however I hadn't anticipated that the EB out here could take over an hour to go through less than 20 sales. My mother was nice enough to take over my spot in line (right at the door!) so I could catch the bus and not be like an hour late to meet my friend.
I second your proclamation of <3 Moms

    and yes, Wii bowling is kicks ######. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

The urge to buy a Wii is getting stronger and stronger. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I hate consoles.

But the Wii is a seriously fun (and cheap) machine.

DOOMWii Mini Review #1 - Trama Center: Second Opinion

I'm told this is basically a remake of the first one, but I don't have a DS and have never played it so that's okay with me.

    I like it. It's fun.

    Ahhh you guy's just getting your Wii's now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I remember heading over to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, two Zellers, etc. trying to get mine on release day. Finally I went to the 'old people mall' near my place with an EB Games in it. I was the first at the mall door, the security guard came and opened it at 9:30, rushed to EB, found a bunch of ppl already there (the bum opened another mall door first)... Long story short I was #11'th of 13 people in line...

On a related note to you DOOM, my parents love it too heh heh. Seems Nintendo's new marketing strategy of going for 'all ages' really <i>is</i> working.

Praise be to gods of wireless!

Also, an update from my previous review of Trama Center:
It's still fun, but man the difficulty just shot through the roof. I'm at a part where I have to draw a shape (like Black & White) but it won't recognize the damn thing ever unless I'm within a few pixels of perfection, which is very very hard to do with a wiimote. Oh, and the storyline just went into bat**** insane anime territory. Magic, evil terrorist virus conspiracies, emo schoolgirls, etc.

I've got Trauma Center for the DS -- excellent game, and I was very disappointed to hear that the Wii version is just a remake.

The difficulty does that -- you'll reach an operation that's just **** hard; I had some I was stuck on for a week or more (of "when I have free time", not hours upon hours of Trauma Center). Then you'll beat it, and you'll just fly through the next 3 operations and feel like a total rockstar. Then they smack you with another hard one.

I still haven't beaten it... at this point I'll probably have to do some practicing before I have a chance of advancing, since the one I stopped on was amazingly hard.
    _________

In Wii news, I don't have one. ): But two of my friends do and loooove it, as do their fiance/wife (respectively), and so my girlfriend is thinking about getting one for me for Christmas! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> <3 GFs!

a remake? that's news to me, I heard it was a new story and stuff and saw piccies of entirely new characters when I was looking at 'sneak peeks' :o

TC is a great lil game though why on earth they shoved that 5 tumour one in so early I don't know at all... I know sooo many people who stopped because of it :s

I'm too stubborn to stop though so I eventually thrashed past it in a fury of scalpels and eventually completed the game. There's some amazing operations later on but yeah, it does go all OTT and super-magical-anime style but that's part of it's fun; it goes from just saving lives to becoming a boss fight game XD

<b>edit:</b> looks like I won't be getting my Wii on launch, the guys at the store I know said I should get it by at least tuesday though.

are the trauma center controls intuitive on the wii? seems like it'd be hard without a touch screen.

Yeah, that's because they couldn't get the same artist. The characters are the same, just drawn by a new person. x:

ooh... you're right. On the upside I'm sure the gameplay will no doubt be a lil revamped right? Not to mention it'll be different doing it with the wii control :3

I was going to say I quite liked the new artist's style until I saw angie. She just doesn't look as cool as her DS counterpart for some reason.

<b>edit:</b> did a bit of digging and it seems second opinion actually has a second playable character with her own story and secret past. Supposedly her part of the game fleshes out the story a lot more and features some fairly unique operations that weren't in the DS one. Also you get a defribulator to restart people's hearts it seems. Awesomesauce!!! :D

About Trauma Center: Second Opinion, it is a remake, but you should get it if you enjoyed the one on DS.

It is more or less harder(actually easier once you get used to a certain things), but there are bonus missions and a whole new chapter that explains a lot of the unanswered question stuff in the orginal.

Also with the Wii controller and the nunchuck you can do awesome things that only a really skilled person with dual stylus can do on the DS version, so that's why it's easier than the DS version.

You can also play two players by having someone use the main controller, and you or someone else us the nunchuck. It's like doctor/nurse mode.

The nurse(nun chuck guy) picks what item you the doctor(main controller guy) uses. So you can fight with your nurse or doctor, and tell him or her what is best to use.

Doctor: Oh my gorge, why did you just give me the antibiotic gel.

Nurse: It's better to put the gel on then cut the patient nub.

    Wheee! (Wiii?)
I got my component cables today and there is definitely a clearly noticeable difference. An awesome difference.
I do believe its time to continue onward in Twilight Princess. FOR GLORY AND/OR VICTORY.

and this conversation has turned into a Trauma center fan gathering. I feel left out D:
For some reason none of the local stores stock Trauma Center (DS or Wii) or Phoenix Wright. I feel kinda left out. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

DOOMWii Mini Review #2 - Super Monkey Ball: Forgettable Subtitle

Holy crap this game has horrible controls. I'm on level 8 and I got tired of fighting with it, so I decided to try the mini games. They are even worse. Not even playable. Its so awful I'd swear my controllers were broken if it weren't for Wii Sports & Trama Center working just fine. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong...
