Mario 64 has it's own bunny-hopping it seems.

This video must have took some awesome planning. There's some nice shortcuts and paths you'd never think of.

People who do these things deserve a lot of respect for the amount of planning and time it takes them to accomplish this...

    Besides, it's just friggin' cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Very old but also very cool. You might also be interested in the 70 and 120 star runs <a href='http://speeddemosarchive.com/Mario64.html' target='_blank'>here</a>.

That was very clever the way he used the bunny to hop through the doors, or glitching up the staircase.

    Wow.

I thought it was impressive how he could just bounce himself through the bowser levels from a sideways perspective. he must have memorized those places... just.. <b>to the max!</b>

That has to be the hottest run of mario bros 64 I have ever seen. I love the little tricks he does.

The exploits he uses are really cool; the one with the bunny is especially strange. Shame I didn't know about them when I played it. =/

Why not just glitch straight to the final boss? I really want to play this game again. I wonder how much an N64 costs these days.
  • XythXyth Avatar Join Date: 2003-11-04 Member: 22312Members
Yeah so I tried this on my nintendo. THIS IS HARD. Wow. I tried glitching up the unending stairs (I only have 67 stars on my file) and hit Z then A fast enough is almost impossible. Wow, just wow.

(Not to mention I can't catch that bloody rabbit anyway)

$27.50 lands you a N64 w/ Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Perfect Dark, and some other games. Not a bad deal at all.

Bunnyhopping FTW. Is this where mario gets his "super" title from? Shees wat speed and control. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Finished watching the video.

It is indeed pwn, worthy of being alongside the SMB1 and SMB3 speed runs.

    I still say it doesn't hold a candle to <a href='http://gamefiles.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyondergames/trailers/movies/quakedonequick/qdqdivx.avi' target='_blank'>quake done quick with a vengence. 12 min runthrough on nightmare.</a>

I'm only 2 and a half minutes through this video and I can already agree. Granted, Mario doesn't have grenade or rocket jumping, but....!!!

[edit]Just saw what a grenade jump looks like with quad damage. omgWTHFAAAAST

I think it's established that nobody is every going to make a game better for speedruns than Quake. Ever.

Edit: QdQwav is <i>especially</i> nice when viewed with Tenebrae.
