So considering that there are quite a few advocates for this mouse mat thing im gonna get one as im not buying a fast car any time soon. Should i go with the one i found?
I just use my desk. During freshman year at college, when I had a reflective desk and an optical mouse, my mousepad was a piece of printer paper attached to the desk with scotch tape, replaced about once a month when it got too dirty to use.

I wish I could find more func pad designs. Right now I've just got my same old Alienware one that I got with the computer. Maybe NS will sell a func pad?
Well im going to go ahead and buy it, atleast it looks comfy enough that i wont get that red padding mark on the corner of my hand from too much gaming <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Step 1. Locate the nearest coles supermarket.
Step 2. Purchase a 'Go Green' Bag
They usually cost anywhere from $1.50 to $2.00.
Step 3. Bring it home. Toss out the green bag; it's useless. Before you pitch it, take out the black plastic sheet in the bottom.
Step 4. Wash the blackplasticsheet, you're now the proud owner of a endlesspad.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I dont use a mousepad.. they never seem to be large enough for me, i always send my mouse flying over the edge back onto the uncharted land that is my desk. So i just clear some room on the desk. Desk > mousepad
I got a func surface 1030 "gaming" pad. I use the smooth side.
For a lot of people, it won't make any difference. However, I am highly sensitive to my physical environment when I'm playing reflex-based games like FPS (this is why I suck at LANs), so it helped me greatly. I'd say I kill about 15-20% more Skulks with it.

I have a Steel S&S and teflon feet on my mouse. The pad itself is big, smooth yet textured, slightly flexible (easier to pack up and take with me), sticks to my desk, and, mostly importantly, almost completely flat. Without the teflon it's good, but with the pads it's amazing. A slight nudge can send the mouse all the way across the pad. It also comes with a dandy carrying case that holds both my pad and my mouse.
The only problem is that tiny pieces of crud and dirt can foul up the pads, hampering movement and creating horrible screaching sounds. Usually I can just brush off the junk before I start gaming. Every once in a while I'll need a wash the pad off in a sink. It really not a big deal, as the pad is plastic and slightly bendable.

Some people spend $100,00 on a car when a $15,000 will suffice. I spend $40 on a mousepad - big whoop. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

What sets a Go Green bag apart from any other bag apart from the fact that it is green and has "Go Green" written on it?
So i just clear some room on the desk.
