Record, as in used a mic & speakers? Or does Audacity have some tool that allows you to dump anything being played into a wave file?

Audacity can record anything that's <s>coming out of</s> being sent to the speakers. It doesn't dump it to file, it adds on to the currently loaded sound (or starts a new one). Adds on to it in memory and temporary files, that is, not altering the actual file. You can then export it as a wav, mp3 or ogg. I usually export as wav and convert to mp3 with WinLame instead as it seems to give better control of the output quality.

The new one is doing my head in, because I know that I've heard it on some game before, and may even own it, but can't put it to a name

    EDITTO - Age of empires???

EDITTO 2 - Runlike from Rise Of Triads

Most excellent, thank you. Now I can finally rip proper audio from older games. Well, as long as they work with DOSBox anyway.

I guess it should work on internet radio too? I hate hearing amazing mixes and live sessions but can't keep them.

Nearly... "I need more information", as they say on game shows.

    ...

New one posted. A slightly tricky one, but I definately know of other people on this forum who have it.

    Yup. Well done.

New one added, a hard one.

You know what? I did say I was going to be flexible, so:

pieceofsoap: extra point for detail for Mechwarrior 2
Luukas: extra point for this one, too.
Pulse: the track names issue is still a bit of a mess as there seems to be only one single source of information giving the track names (and it contradicts your answer anyway).

I've re-opened the other tracks that only had one point guessed. Extra points are available...

The source I used was CDDB, which is used by Winamp to label CDs. The CDDB entry for Total Annihilation is here.

Yay for retro games. The new one is from Dune 2. It was used in-game during a, well, neutral period, as the music would change when combat began. I don't remember the tracks being specific to any mission number.

Ah, I see. My source was gamingfm and googling revealing this link (it's towards the bottom of that page). I'm curious about who ended up naming those tracks in the end (hehe. I'm pretty sure "The March Unto Death" is a waltz, not a march).

    Ok. Warpath it is, then.

Ooh, so close! You're both right, but Rat's the quickest to the bonus point.

New one uploaded, a MIDI again. A bit of a toughie.

Remember there are still three bonus points going begging.

    *bashes head*

Is that in the theatre? When you first meet Sophie or whatever her name is?

Or was it just when you enter Atlantis?

Crap, which is my guess? I'd have to go with Atlantis.
