FINALLY I know one! 25.mp3 is from Quake 2. The track is 6. Performed by Sonic Mayhem, who pwns. :D

If I was still in high school I could tell you the name of the track, but that is long gone from memory.

And in the game its playing when you're walking across a bridge that blows up a few stages in. And there's marine chatter on your radio.

I can hear the strogg now.

Damn it now I wanna go play quake 2... :D

20 sounds SO familiar, it's driving me absolutely CRAZY. Ogre Battle/Final Fantasy Tactics comes to mind, maybe one of those types of games...grr I'll never understand how my brain works...

Next one uploaded, and is an interesting case this time. There is a very certain game that used this song as its theme (this is a recording directly from it), but the song didn't originate from it. So one point for the game, one point for where it originally comes from.

I get the feeling that Tie Fighter song was used in the training simulator missions. You know, the ones where you fly inside a tube, tunnel... whatever.

It's similar to the training simulator, but I'm pretty sure it's different. I think it's the generic combat music that you hear when you are near an enemy fighter.

    Sidenote: fix those broken links!

#4 (12.mp3) is called "Run Like"

"4.mp3" & "8.mp3" remind me of the King's Quest series of games.

"20.mp3" sounds like it is from a space game of some sort. I would have to guess something along the line of "David Braben's: First Encounter", "X2: The Threat", or possibly even the "Elite" series of games (though they might be too old).

Hm... you're the second person to say that. I knew this track from the demo, in which the title is slightly different; I don't know if they changed it in the full version. Google isn't helping me to verify this, either (look at the 8th from the top ).

"20.mp3" is from Privateer. I don't the name of the track exactly as I owned the game, but only played 5 minutes of it. Listening to the whole song, it almost sounds like a combat or suspense style of music. The file I have however is named Priv_032.mid.

"14.mp3" is from Warcraft 2. Horde side music to be specific.

"12.mp3" is called "Run Like Smeg" to be specific, also. I downloaded the shareware version and used a cheat code to select the specific track to play.

Yes, it is from Privateer. That's not what's happening at the time, though.

It's a great game; if you've still got it, you should give it another go. It runs acceptably under DOSBox.

    Correct on both counts.

This is the answer I was after. If anyone can supply reasonable evidence that the track is really called simply "run like", they can get another bonus point

Next one uploaded, and I'm starting to run out. There are only 7 others left, and they're mostly pretty obscure (that is, ones I've got recorded. I could probably find a few more).

I'll guess one of the tracks from Transport Tycoon. It's probably wrong, but it's the only game I can think of with that kind of music.

8 reminds me of Dollett Town music from FF8, but I don't think it really is. especially since these seem to be all computer games, not console games :>

I think the references to the name "Run Like" were of the filename, which was called "runlike.mid" to conform to the 8.3 naming standard.

Yep, it's from Morrowind alright, but it's not from Seyda Neen or Vivic, because there is no location specific music in Morrowind. The song in question is mx_explore_3.mp3 and can be heard at any time when not in battle.
