SjN you <i>may</i> have a point but your numbers are off. Of all the times ive checked the steam status the NS player count has never dropped 1000. And if you consider the 26 bot servers and 20 for HLTV clients, and you consider ALL the players on those servers to be bots, then you total 179 players who arent players. So your missing a decent handful with my grossly exagerated (in your favor) computations. On top of that, that is the number of users online at any point, albeit in a 1 hour time span there are over 1800 unique players, so its not like you'll be fighting the same people over and over.

so everyone who plays classic are "idiots" and combat players are the exception? I have a feeling this isnt what you meant.
I still think the proportion is wrong, 1 classic for every 3 combat just isnt correct, though i cant prove it easily. It may hit this high when some classic servers go combat and there are fewer than average people playing, maybe.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->NS LOST ITS FEELING. Seeing how long NS has been in production, the 1.04 and 2.0 versions are remarkably simmilar to 3.0 classic. I mean no change in player classes, changes to armor/health/weapon systems, but its still the same game. So if classic hasnt changed much, how did combat change it?
and finally <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->instead of adding 3rd person reload animation, they added combat. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> change "instead of" to "in addition to"
Don't hate on combat. It didn't do anything to you. If you don't like it than don't play it, thats the easiest way to get it removed from the game (seems like what some of you want). If no one plays it, it will be extra and probably removed. Though its ultimately up to the devs.

I suspect we're sitting on a plateau with a slight decline from the peak of NS popularity. I suspect if you take out CO, we'd be WAY down from where NS used to be.
More people have left NS due to changes they disliked (no, not CO, its a <b>choice</b> guys. If someone likes CO more, they'll stick to it, chances are in the long run they wouldnt play it anyways) like the move from 1.04x style to the current one. Games were longer and the overall system was much different from now. I know I liked it better back then, I havent touched NS in an extremely long time.

Sign up dates mean little. I have only posted on ANY forum for at most a year and a half, and I usually have good things to say. (and probably alot more experience than some realize)
All of what i have said in this thread is a good example, there may be some facts to support your point, but i have put out more total information than anyone in this thread, all for one side.
Keep in mind I am merely affirming the title of the thread, i dont want this to be confused with a combat vs. classic thread, since i really only started it to convince people that NS is, in fact, alive and kicking. Dead mods dont have updates/players/servers.
