Just finished: Crown of Slaves by David Weber.

Now on: Smoke and Shadows by Tanya Huff.

Up next: Not sure, I also tend to read half a book, then get distracted. Probably another Weber though.

wow...a lot of Dostoevsky....makes me happy(well happier...hard not to be with a flask of whiskey ) since he's one of my favorite authors of all time. Loved Crime and Punishement. The Brothers Karamazov was also good. I think his best work is by far Notes from the Underground though....simply outstanding. I haven't gotten to the Idiot yet though....I think it's going to be next on my list...well after the Icelandic Sagas, and Naked Lunch by William Burroughs. Thank god summer and reading for fun time is coming up....no more of trying to fit it in around several hunderd pages per class per week, and a job and keep o my drinking schedual..er...social life....sigh....college......

Not really reading anything at the moment other than Asterix comics. I should probably go to a library or something...

[edit]Oh, I am reading "Concepts of Programming Languages, 6th edition" and "Operating System Concepts, 6th edition". Yay for uni work :/[/edit]

[edit again]Actually, lately I've been reading the Tanach, trying to see how far I can get in the original Hebrew from what I remember from school. It's actually a really good read (no wonder people, aha, read it religiously).[/edit again]

He stated his intentions, so I read his mind proxy them.

If he asked what he was thinking, I could reply "you want to know what I am reading."

*EDIT* On second thought I would reply "You want to know how I am reading your mind." but that would only be to keep up with his thoughts.

As I have approximately zero time to get into a book at the moment whenever I sit down to read I start flipping through my issues of Fortean Times magazine, if you like weird stuff I highly recommend taking out a subscription my only problem is I'm about 2 issues behind due to my aforementioned lack of time.

Last book I read was titled "Britain and the Ancient World" by James A Bolton and Denis Richards which is a rather old history textbook but has some interesting information on ancient cultures and how they affected Britain in it's fledgeling society days.

Last novel I read was Stark by Ben Elton but that was around the end of last year...

Shame really when reading it I have the images and voices from the Tv series in my head i wonder if that will change?

At the moment I'm re-reading the Count of Monte Cristo, which is one of my favorite books (though there's a lot of those...) and various books for school, mainly "Life Stories " (a collection of profiles published in the New Yorker) and "Assembled in Japan" about postmodern Japan as a business and technology entity.

I'm about halfway through it. I generally don't like fantasy stuff, so whenever they get into swords and queens of legend I roll my eyes. But the characters, comedy, and action are so well done I can put up the genre. Overall it's one of the best graphic novels I've read. And if you like fantasy, this may be the perfect book.

"Vampire Worlds - Blood Brothers" by Brian Lumley.

The Vampire Worlds books are a trilogy and kind of carry of the story of Harry Keogh from the Necroscope saga. When i've read these i'll try a Terry Pratchett book as I hunt down the "Necroscope: Avengers" and "E-Branch" books.

If anyone else has read any of the above, please let me know.

Hah, alright man. Cool, cool I'll give it a try. I haven't read too many graphic novels that are fantasy based. Thanks for the information.

Golden Arches East: McDonald's in East Asia

    edited by James L. Watson

Its about the fast food giants expansion into Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan and its affects on culture and stuff like that.

    Pretty interesting

The first McDonalds in Tiannamen Square in Beijing seated 700 and had 29 cash registers. it had 40,000 customers in its opening day.

No classes, just me, my horn to practice, students to teach, and a book to read while driving.

And if you know Houston, being how lovable it is, you're lucky to even move during rush hour.

I was reading Strangers by Dean Koontz, but I let someone borrow that when I got towards the end. I fear DK's endings..sometimes rushed, and disappointing. (Sans the few great books he's written.) Depending if I get that one back, I'll probably read through and old psychology textbook. Always a good read.
