My guess (take note, GUESS) will be minor fixes and tweaks- fixing bile bomb/xenocide, mayhaps limiting marine turrets, etc. etc.. But I think it best to wait for the official word.

Anyway, back on topic. The skin doesn't work yet, due to a bug in the forums. MonsE knows a lot more about it then I do, but we'll get the new color scheme working as soon as we can.
v1.03 will probably come out before v1.1. I haven't announced the changes in v1.03, but it will be mostly bug fixes and updates for support of 3rd party stats and server programs. v1.1 will be the first client update, and will likely happen sometime before Xmas. We're not announcing the contents of it yet though.
So is it planned to add any new features to the game or is NS going to stay pretty much the same as it is now and patching will focus on gameplay changes & bug fixes?

I've been playing on the beta servers, and I'll mention one really.. discussion provoking feature -
big frickin' laser beams on the LMG and pistol.
Aliens don't need parasite now - in early game, the marines announce their positions from down the hall, through that door you're perched above, out the vent they're hiding in.. or trying to hide in.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing aliens much more than marines, and enjoy foes with large arrows saying "bite here" running beneath me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Since we're talking on a zombie topic after Flayra has said his bit, I wanna send out the yell again to BRING BACK THE GRAPHICAL DAMAGE. Or whatever it was called. The little damage numbers that floated up when you hit something. As far as "beta servers"...there aren't any. Those are adminmod and metamod tricks that people are pulling. We haven't put any work into laser beams for weapons, but I know the lanvancouver.com servers have done this (somewhat magically).

I think that's extremely stupid, don't those dummies read the forums? I'd be ok with laser as a visual thing, but ONLY for the marine team. Aliens shoulden't be able to see them/
Well I was kinda wondering you mention how it could be Alien V Alien or Marine V Marine but wouldnt you need to have each team be a different color or something to tell the difference cause I looked in the models and there isn't a secondary skin for player models or is this much further down the road. ok some stuff that has previously been said by devs (these are just sorta generalities and may have changed):
There will (hopefuly) be a 2.0 this is going to contain some of the BIG changes (probably things like AvA, MvM, volumetric Flamethrower if Flay gets it working, Skulks that actualy walk on celings/walls etc)
everything before then will probably be sorta minor changes (though still nice to have probably)
and remember these are just somethings I remember Devs saying before, they might be wrong, I might have missremembered, they might have changed, or Flay and MonsE might have just been playing jokes on us (I wouldn't put it past em, not after that April1st gag, blech ;D)

also, will 1.03 fix the cpu usage? most ppl still get increadibly high and iggy said that the beta 1.02 were better than the public?
Yeah, I was just playing on lan.vancouver and those laser things are very lame. It was so easy to skulk marines because you could see them coming and where they were looking <b>exactly</b>.
As far as I'm concerned 1.02 is completely balanced. I retract all statements in opposition. You just need to get on a server with a few skilled players per team to see it.
I agree with the turret limiting, why should aliens be the only ones limited....or is it because aliens can place defensive towers by the offensive ones that auto repair them??? No matter what is in the patchs...when they come out...or who they go to...client or server. I will just be happy to see them. i remember back in Beta...like...4 for CS when the patchs were coming out a little more regularly...now it's like once every 4 or 5 months it seems for CS or DOD. This mod is still incredibaly new and the dev's feedback is extremly impressive. However I feel, they are making it, it's thier mod...trust the dev's...they can use the...we'll release it when it's done...speach all they want with me because in the end, it is up to them.
I agree with Mindmeld_me, its up to the devs in the end but thats not to say that I wont put my ideas forward!
A specific message should be sent to the commander to tell them to build turrets all around the control center, not just in front of it. If commands dont do this its easy to take down an outpost.
I'd really love to see more types of upgrades for the aliens but i cant think of anything thats missing That Flamethrower sounds really cool There isnt very much water involved in NS but if there was (say in a future map), how about a breathing appartus for the marines Better AI for the baubbles (sp?) Dual Pistols! The marines had laser sights on their helmets, it looked really cool, we need lasers!
