If they said: We're gonna add a flamethrower I'd say 'oh....a flame thrower...' since they said they might add a <b>volumetric</b> flamethrower i'd love to see how they manage to do it. Only wolfeinstine (sp) has managed to do anything like it so its more of the coding and graphical side that interests me.
If we get flamethrowers can we also make it so if a skulk bites the fuel tank it explodes taking out everyone within the blast radus? Would be cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Personally, I think they hit the ball out of the park on the first swing with this mod.
Fix the few little bugs, tidy up the commanders interface and then wrap it up for christmas.

The sergeant/sub-commander thing would be nice... but beyond that... the game is balanced, it's an amazing marriage of RTS + FPS, and I think it's a better game at beta 1.0 than CS and TFC ever developed into.
NS will become the standard by which future mods will be judged.

Some wall of lame build instances, for whatever reason, seem to take very, very little damage from siege turrets. In one 1.0.2 game, we (the Marines) had 7 siege turrets firing at a set of Alien structures for over 10 minutes. We finally had to go in there with HMGs and riddle them with bullets.
Other than that, some nice-to-haves would be:
1) Ability to bind keys to individual and/or groups of Marines. Selecting a group of moving Marines is a pain in the arse. Selecting every Marine on spread-out-map is impossible. 2) More voices, especially things like: a) "hold your position" b) "hold your fire" c) "proceed cautiously" d) "need backup" e) "stick together, team" f) "weld each other" g) "go go go !!" h) "taking fire, need assistance !"
With that said, I play NS every chance I get. This is saying a lot, considering I have never played or enjoyed any other FPS/RTS game this much for this long. Great game, developers !!

From what I understand, 1.03 will be more balancing and bug fixing and 1.1 will be mostly content adding, which is why it's taking so long. I'm sure some client side bugs will be fixed as well (ie Flayra has said he will add the ability to mute voice comm for annoying players)
