Chamber choice was decided based on what was best for the fades. Regen is the best upgrade for a fade, so teams usually went with defense chambers.
Now chamber choice is about the skulks on the team. With free upgrades you want the skulks to have the most powerfull upgrades for them. If fades can't get regen, most good fades can play with celerity or focus first. The fade doesn't need to basically single handedly defend the building second hive anymore.
So now we are seeing a massive change in gameplay. Vanilla skulks and regen fades vs. the new crazy sc/mc skulks, and a slightly less important fade. The problem is that skulks are owning, especially with sc, which is giving them three upgrades at once, not one.

It has nothing to do with SC.. skulks could have had all three of those upgrades in the beta versions. Only in the betas it was called Parasite or "the guy with SoF and a microphone"
Nerf the SC all you want. All that'll happen is the aliens will continue to dominate the competitive scene, only they'll start with MC or DC. Meanwhile, the SC will once again be relegated to the "third chamber" position.

At hive 2 cara is WAY more adventagious. The only reason DC used to always be used first is that a hive one regen fade was the aleins only chance to break out of a 2 hive lockdown. Now that marines have a HARD time locking down 2 hives, celer/adren fades are coming out alot earlier and waiting for hive 2 to get cara, meaning even the mid game is boosted, because as soon as you have fades they have the best upgrade path, rather then being required to choose worse paths just so they can boost the less powerful alien early game.

like i said before, thanks for your replies guys, i dont think you can add another point to this post that the devs wont already get from what it contains already. Someone please lock this thing before the entire community turns it into just 1 spam after another.
