Team North America Vs Team Europe

Exhibition Match
While the NS site was down, the two teams North America and Europe played a two map exhibition match in preparation for the upcoming GamingOrb Nations Cup.

The two maps played were ns_veil, on Terror's East coast server and ns_tanith on CuC's English server.

Team America got off to a good start by winning a controversial first round, with a bug hindering Team Europe's fading team leaving them helpless to defend their hive. However, Europe managed to pull back the second round leaving veil with a 1-1 marine tie. With both teams moving over to the English server Team Europe managed to take both their alien and marine rounds with relative ease.

Final score: 3-1 Team Europe.

It was definitely a good match to watch. There were over 200 viewers if I remember correctly. You should really check out those demos if you missed it.

Yup, excellent game indeed, even though my Fading was sub-par. :E

The Euro HLTV had 200 specs according to the demos, even though the server may have screwed up the number as they claim the HLTV had a 128 player max. American HLTV had around 100?
• NaxoNaxo Join Date: 2003-04-10 Member: 15385Members, Constellation
The NS-Fr HLTV had 128 slot, but biomass connected another 80 slots proxy to it, making it a max of 208 by the magic of HLTV proxy system.

Ye it was great match. We finns had lots of fun due our comrade zallvan`s probelms people were giving him gorge impulse and other telling it wasnt fade impulse

Another great moment was when zallvan pwned three or for skulks in ns_veil next to sub-sector hive

We want more!!

I assume his monitor is surrounded with tons of post-its with impulses on it... and his dog will eat the fade one just before the next EU match. :)
Don't know about US vs EU, but I think there will be some matches like Sweden Finland England... vs US, with that gamingorb cup coming. I'm not sure tho. Should be around march.

Sounds awesome. Do we know about this bug? What was it?
• NaxoNaxo Join Date: 2003-04-10 Member: 15385Members, Constellation
During one round of the match, Zallvan was unable to morph to fade using the menu. He asked during like 3 minutes what the impulse for fade was, to morph using console.
• comradecomrade Join Date: 2003-11-30 Member: 23774Members
I think the bug was that he couldn't even open his popupmenu during that game, the same bug happened to zaiko on teamEU's alien tanith round when he needed to gorge and drop DC.
• fanaticfanatic This post has been edited. Join Date: 2003-07-23 Member: 18377Members, Constellation, Squad Five Blue
Yup, popupmenu didn't work. It's a bit strange because I've never seen it happen
outside of that match (which was played on two completely different servers).

There will surely be a rematch, but not in the very near future. The GO Nations
Cup will definitely be a priority, and besides, you don't want to have these
matches every two weeks. Sometime before summer or after might be a feasible
time, but that's obviously not an definite statement since I only played for the
European team (and might play for the next, if picked), and didn't actually
organize the event.

i've seen the bug happen a few times in tournament mode and never in public. It can be sorted by just binding a random button to "morph to ____" in your options menu.. but its still very annoying. Quite rare too :[
• ZiGGYZiGGY Join Date: 2003-01-19 Member: 12479Members
its a good bug, morph to gorge and end up as lerk and stuff. always a laugh.

but <3 team euro, surprised they can even field a team with the community being as dire as it is.

What the **** does that matter? Jeez, i've lost count of how many times i've seen you think you're better than everyone else because of the exi . infront of your name. Maybe you've not said it directly but you think it and you act like it. Names and clans are irrelevant, just because you don't know who someone is doesn't mean their opinions aren't valid.

If you're going to insult me (or civ also, in this case) you should at least have the balls to identify yourself and let your opinion be known.

Edit for MrBen's edit: That's unfortunate, perhaps you should improve on your perceptiveness.
