They added in the code for the "fixed" hitbox (that was commented out), so then in theory if this was the "bad game design" that caused the screenshot, wouldn't it already be fixed?

Agreed with forlorn. I'd actually like to see a lot more work done on the server code to optimize it. It's insanely difficult to get a good solid NS server running with good FPS as compared to say CS. I understand totally that NS hacks up way more of the hl1 code than CS, but it's the most blatant example of changes. Hit registration in NS is SO slow compared to other games. You can fire at a sitting skulk, let go of the fire button, lastinv to another weapon, and then the skulk will die, and it was sitting totally still. That just seems rather odd to me that hit registration can take nearly a second even with low latency. The screenshot that started this thread is just an example of that. The opposing player had higher latency (It's a South American clan that prev is playing), but the shots in the demo are registering WAY behind the model. That shouldn't be happening, and I know that many people now fire behind skulks in order to register hits. I know I personally shoot the shotgun behind players now, so I actually catch their hitbox. I hope the hitbox code that was commented out does indeed fix many of the hit registration issues, because this is a serious issue in the competitive community, even if some of my fellow clan players manage to act like smacktards when they post.

I like NS the way it is, thank you very much. While there are problems from time to time (seldom) I still have fun with the game itself. Bugs are riddled in every game, so, instructing the devs (very good people who work for free) to fix their game because of a bug is rude.

OK, I don't think this'll lead anywhere. You managed to open three consecutive cans of worms (Combat, Pubbers - Clanners, Steam), all three of which are prone to leading to flamefests, in one thread. Seeing the controversial nature of these topics and the speed with which you change between them, I doubt that any kind of resolution would be possible.
