Replace your flashlight with this, adjust the waits as you need to in order to get your ideal strobe speed, and you'll be able to signal and get attention without using voice or chat. By default, this number of impulse 100's leaves the flashlight in the opposite position it was in at the start. IE: it turns on and off by itself. Tap once to turn on, again to turn off. I love it and I'll be using it plenty.
I also need a little help figuring out how to do those nifty field-of-view changes though. I'm messing around and nothing is working yet. I'm guessing there's some trickery with cl_lw involved I'm missing. Anyone wanna elaborate? I was hoping to run FOV changes in 60 degree increments. 50-110-170-230, like a scope zoom, except in reverse.
I'd also like agree that scripting has absolutely no potential to be abusive. None at all. Complete myth.
Anyway, about that script to zoom like a sniper with non-sniper guns, does that work for other mods? Someone mentioned TFC... :D LOL
The vof-cvar is locked in NS. But, I've never tried this default_fov on NS-servers. But... If someone plays TFC, there fov works. I think that some scripts can definately be abusive, if they exploit something.
Next thing you know, we'll all be talking about: alias +doaim "bot_aim 1; bot_shoot 1" alias -doaim "bot_aim 0; bot_shoot 0" and it will all be over. (ns that is)
Yeah, scripts can be abused. Multiweapon script for TFC anyone? Don't know if it exists in steam TFC but it definately does in won TFC. It basically allowed you to have any weapon as any class. Fun for joking around but it was usually abused.
EDIT - Forgot to mention that I have a script in the works. I was working on a script that toggles CWAG's pistol rapid fire on and off depending on what weapon you choose. I started to work on giving this script "Last Used Weapon", "Previous Inventory" and, "Next Inventory" support when I realized I was essentially making a client side script similar to Romano's. Just a quick question, does Romano's script work with Marine's? Including slot 4? If not I can make a version with no pistol script in it when I am done.
the normal command is "+showmap". I want that you push a button and the map stays until you hit it again. Anyone got a script like this? (I've seen something like that here somewhere but it is not working <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

Well it's one thing to have your say on a topic, another to continually repeat it just for the sake of it.
Personally I find the thread more of an interesting read, instead of a resource. I'm primarily a 56k user (until I get a DSL access point to open up in our local exhange ><) and things like Romano's quick-switching are invaluable tools.
There's a time and place for all things, including scripts, but when people develop a dependancy on them to perform basic functions (such as swapping weapons automatically) then maybe we're just becoming lazy. A pistol-script is not required unless you have arthritis, having yourself automatically metabolise after a blink is just a matter of laziness and so on.
More power to those who develop their skills without dependancy on automatic functions.

One question... Autoaim scripts? I can't imagine a way to make that possible. With scripts you can use only the features the game already have, nothing more.
