Welbilt (genre: alt. rock as played by skilled musicians/lyricist. If you like Matchbox Twenty or similar artists, you'll like Welbilt.)
Their new CD is absolutely fantastic, available on CDBaby.com and from the iTunes Music Store.
There are some songs available for download on their website; they're all excellent, though "Enough" is kind of poor quality (being live).

For a nice smattering of artists of all different genres, I suggest checking out this week's Songfight. Some ver good artsits there, and some that suck. Mostly if you go with the past weeks the voting tells you the relative quality.
Let's see......here's just a few bands I'm sure many of you have never heard of before.
For rap: MC Frontalot the premeire Nerdcore hip-hopper, and the most awesomest rapper..........ever. His songs appeal to all people, and cover all topics from the finer points of bridge-building, to the dangers of picking up con chicks, and homsexual tolerance (and who doesn't love tolerance?). Every song he has ever recorded is available for DL on his sight, so check em all out, you got nothing to lose. MC Paul Barman a very dirty rapper from Canada, amusing and quite proficien in the beats department. Kinda hard to get a hold of his stuff, but his site has a few of his good songs, Anarchist Bookstore is good, and try to get your hands of MTV Get Of the Air Pt 2, some of the best rhymes about sex ever. Blackalicious ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Get a hold of Alphabet Aerobics or Chemical Calisthenics and you will see what I mean.
Rockin out: Nerf Herder One of the most non-serious bands ever. Almost all their songs are novelty songs, but they are also suprisingly compitently(sp?) done, well played and written. I can name so many songs of theirs that are just so awesome......but to get a general taste of the badn, try to get I've Got a Boner for Christmas, Don't Hate Me, 5000 Ways To Die, and Love Sandwich. The Mr T Experience light hearted classic alternative rock at its best. Nothing really amazing about the music, but they have quite unique style, and although much of their music seems cliche now, at the time it was made it was basically the first of its kind, and it hearkens back to a wonderful time for music. Go get With My Looks And Your Brains, Self Pity, Semi-Ok, and Will You Still Love Me to get a taste of their broad range. The Aquabats ska for the masses. One of the few californian ska bands who manage to stand out from the crowd of generic happy songs about food and girls (although many of their songs are about food and girls, but in a different way). Also, they are superheroes, and they fight crime. And they are seriously the most awesome band in the world. Seriously. Some songs of theirs to hear would be Idiot Box, Fight Song, Theme Song (they have their own theme song people, how awesome is that?!), Powdered Milk Man, and of course Captain Hampton And The Midget Pirates.
Bands that are so rediculous they are awesome: Daler Mehndi an amazingly odd looking indian man who has acheived success in his own country, but over here he is just hilarious. His songs are actually kindof addicting, very repeditive, which makes them easy to sing along to even if you don't know the language. Although I started to listen to this guy as a gag, he has actually grown on me, and it is frightening. To truly understand his greatness, you must watch his videos though. Specifically Tunak Tunak Tun. Electric Six British new-disco. Need I say more? Although they have had their few minor hits in America, their true strength lies in their immense britishness and the fact that they know how rediculous they are. AND IT'S DISCO PEOPLE!!!! Try to get Synthesizer, Naked Pictures, and Danger High Voltage (hopefully you'll find the version with Vanilla Ice in the beginning AWESOME!) Rhapsody one look at the frontpage of these guys' website should clue you in to the rediculousness of this band. They are the kind of power metal band that sings about elves and orcs and magic and awesome. They are actually good musicians, their drummer is one of the better I've heard with the double pedal. Their guitarist, Luca Turilli, has a solo career that is equally amazing. It is impossible to listen to this band without smiling (or trying to challenge some sort of dark warlord with your blessed blade of power), although their new album leaves much to be deisired. To get a feel for this band, get the song Emeral Sword or Wisdom of The King. And don't play it soft.
Nevermore: Nevermore is the one of the best bands I've ever heard. Thrash meets power metal, I guess. Dreaming Neon Black is the most emotional and depressing album I've ever heard. Listen to them. Now.
Well I'd recommend Pearl Jam for a start. If you want tracks look for "Once, Alive, Black , Jeremy (Really good song there) and Garden" from Ten
"Not For You, Nothingman, whipping, Corduroy and Betterman" from Vitology
"Brain Of J, No Way and Do The Evolution" from Yield those tracks are all superb.
Also see if you can get the Offspring. Their albums are very good.
Also look out for the albums in the Hard Place Classics range (If you live in the UK, if you don't you can just find the list from Hardplace.net as your likely to find a good set of albums there.
Also, in a related note, The Silent Hill 2 soundtracks very good.
Everyones heard of Electric 6, they have been on the top 10 a while ago. Also if noone has mentioned it check out pure volume for some leet unsigned bands.
Seventh is another great artist, they do music for operation flashpoint

Just heard some new stuff that I really, really like.
A German reggae band called Seeed, pick up their CD called New Dubby Conquerors. I can't even understand the majority of it, cause it's in German, but man does it flow well and just sound awesome. I think they have some freely downloadable songs on Amazon, too.
