"Secondary Fire" attacks?

I think it's plausible to assume it will be considered for NS2. Back in the day it was kind of a command decision based on the assumption that with the popup menu secondary fire would result in to many keys to manage by the player, when the reality of the situation is that most high end player bind every useful menu command to a key anyways for speed, so limiting key useage for most isn't as big a deal as it was thought it would be.

So are we talking about Perfect Dark secondary attacks type of thing? Not that it would directly relate PD to NS in terms of weaponry and attacks, but if that's the case, then that would be cool. I'd like to add more function to that HMG than just blasting away Aliens, or bite more than what I can chew with the Skulk. The +movement is a start, so yeah, keep it coming on NS2.
my opinon atm,nothing good can come of 2ndary fire...

lob grenade or prime nade with timed held timed throw timed fuse count down
hmg clip fed chain feed, chain feed chance of jam and or slightly slower stationaly rate of fire, prone prahaps takes a second to get down on your HA knees
me i prolly wouldnt want to see a scope enter NS2 prahaos if its out side, iron sights sure
who knows, if so what happens to the fabled right click menu?
For Alien attacks I have no idea but we're lucky that you have some smart guys on your team heh

why does the menu have to be permanantly binded to the right click?
its not the fact it has to be bined there it is classic ns and it would b a shame to see it put somewhere else

I think you're probably the only person who has formed an emotional attachment to a menu being bound to a certain button.
The secondary fire doesent even have to be an actual weapon or anything, just something that enhances the gun for a little.
IE, secondary fire on HMG allows slower fire for more accuracy. Something like that...

Actually, the first time i played ns, i tried all the aliens n weapons n looked for right clicks LOL
The menu can be mouse3? or a key, just about everyone in the world has a mouse button 3
If it doesn't work spend that 10 dollars on a new optical mouse on newegg haha

same, i have "v" for my right click, i mean popup menu .
i'd imagine 2ndary fire for aliens being mainly things like charge up effects - basically an automatic focus upgrade. or it will do what the reload key does now - leap/blink/charge
weld/unweld would be awesome if you want to block a hallway with tables and crates - only be rammed by an onos later in the game..
I don't really see a point to iron sights, but secondary fire would be cool. for the grenade launcher, primary fire could have them do the normal timed explosion, and secondary fire would have them explode on impact.
I'd like to see something from UT for the aliens. That sludge gun, which you can charge to launch a bigger sludge ball or something. Chargeable weapons?
And what is wrong with mouse3, mouse4 and mouse5. Back when I played NS before 2.0/3.0 I had all the weapons bound to the mouse for every alien class. Keypad 1-5 where my evolve buttons for the different alien classes, it would also activate a custom script for a specific lifeform and its weapons

Good point. It's not as if most of us don't already have a 5-button mouse. And they aren't expensive anyways. You can get a cheap Microsoft wired optical 5-button for about $30 at most retailers and a true premium gammer mouse like a MX518 or a Razer Deathadder is only around $50-$60.
I want to be able to tilt my pistol and shoot gangsta style as secondary option.. just like UT.
