I just started, human and a firefighter. Right now, I am just running around and searching around, but I might start over as a zombie since it does sound crappy as a human with PKers, guys who destroy generators, etc.
I dunno, I don't have really any problems with PKers. They usually get killed instantly by a group, unless you happen to like living alone. Someone almost always has fuel on hand, so smashed generators aren't too big of a problem. Abra, stay wherever you are. I'm coming to get you soon. Me and some other guy are going to form a group, and we will start moving south soon.
*How do you see others' speak? How do you refresh without having to use up any action points?
Also, it seems the % aren't accurate for me, I missed 5 times in a row, hit once, and miss 6 more times until I have up(with axe, 25%).
I read the FAQ, it says if you have multiple characters at the same location attacking the same thing, the percentage goes down, but I don't have multiple characters at the same location(just two, I gave up on the other).
I'm in Paynterton, if anyone wants to save me or kill me, name is "NinjaPetco".
I won't give the exact building I am in, as 4-5 zombies just busted into a place I was in and killed like 7 people, fortunately I wasn't hurt.
*When the barricades broke down, I closed the doors and told everyone to build barricades/prepare for zombies, that was 12 hours ago.

Humans run faster than before now, with a skill called "Free running". I don't think zombies can have it, basically with "Free running", you can just enter from building to building without having to go to the streets first than entering. This pretty much means double the speed if I understood the skill right.
Edit: Okay, I need someone to save me. Not only has a zombie broke into the safe house I was in, I moved into a new place with one guy in it. It seems he is a zombie spy, he only has zombie abilities, but is a human. I need help fast!
I'm in Paynterton, and near Thorp Way Fire Station. I might just go back in there, there are 3 other zombies in there, but it's better than staying alone with zombie spies.
Also, what does it mean when a person's name is slightly gray?
Anyone know the answer to my questions in my last post?
BTW, I no longer need to be saved, I'm camping out in a revival point. One zombie tried to kill us, but we killed it and dump the body outside. Our doors are unlocked, so if you can find us, you're welcomed to kill us or get revived.
Edit: I'm not telling you the exact location/building, but I'm in Paynterton.
Edit2: Also is there a way to show all the messages? When you relog, it doesn't show you the previous messages.
Also, how do you hear others' speak? Is it displayed in the same place as the messages like "Zombie hit you for 3 damage", and will it be refreshed when someone speaks automatically, or/and how do I refresh without having to manually relog each time.
Is there anyway to save logging settings, I should have picked a shorter and easier name. My name is Ninjapetco btw.
This game is the most fun when you play a survivor, but the trick is that you have to play with a community or team, and you must have a purpose. Otherwise you end up in barricaded mall like me trying to perfect your inventory.
I've actually got around 20 shotguns and a flakjacket now, just checked. Haven't played in over six months or so.
I used to be part of an alliance of survivor teams, and we turned the topright suburb into Fort Dulston. We held for a really long time, zombies didn't dare come to our place. We eventually fell to PK'ers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

wow ive been playing this game for about a year now or so.
I have 2 characters, we have been running back and forth between 3 malls and a fort for the past months avoiding one 400+ zombie horde after another as they come, siege the place, and eventually over run it then leave it.
Im currently back at Twreeweeke mall in Dulston. Both my characters are maxed out, I have one medic/revive character and one hunter character. Maxed out all the skills and still have 4000XP left over.

if anyone of you are heading for pegton or fort creedy now would not be the time, we just got hit by the zombie horde a day or two ago, most buildings have been ransacked (including my home <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> )

Petco: Yeah well, it's only a percentage. Sometimes you don't hit anything in 20 ap's even if you have 25% if you're really unlucky. And yeah you need to refresh to see others ppl chat. To refresh without spending an AP you can click on the "view contacts" link and then on "back to the city". It still use a IP-hit though. When a person's name is slightly gray, i think it's cause you have him in your contact list. Afaik there no way to "log" messages. About the login issue, just don't logout and close your window/browser, and when you wanna relog just go to the main page (www.urbandead.com) and click "log in" without entering any login/password information, you'll still be logged in with the last character you were logged on (cause you didnt log off).
Thanks Droggog, but I don't think the 'grayed' names are from people on my contact list. Here is what I mean, it's not the background but the actual text color is sort of grayed : <img src="http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7169/urbandeadnamesun8.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> .
Thanks for the help people. Right now, things aren't really interesting.
I'm a firefighter, and got hand to hand skill and have nearly 200 experience which I'm saving for as Zombie so I can get the skill that allows me to get up using only 1 AP, but to be able to buy that I need to buy a skill before it(that's why I'm saving for 200).
I'm just sheltering in a revive point, and then just moving into a hospital where zombies are, hit-hit, then go back and repeat.

Resident Evil 4?
Ahem. I want to get in on this game. Tell me a good place to go, I'd like to join some cool human group. Still, I don't have internet at my house (I'm at a friend's right now), so it'll be a while before I can play...

Try <a href="http://www.nexuswar.com" target="_blank">Nexuswar</a>. It's not exactly zombie-related, but as a browser MMORPG it's 25 times better. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Thanks, I'm reading about the info on that game right now.

I read the FAQ, it says if I have multiple characters doing same stuff, the percentages go to zero, but I don't.
Any help?
