Hm... Most terrible fears I've got: heights and skulls/skeletons. I don't know how, but I used to really FREAK out when seeing skulls, most notably in videogames. I mean, really. Like I had fear of playing Ultima Underworld because when you die you get like 5 totally ugly low res skulls LOOKING AT YOU. Argh. Every time my health dropped at less than 20 hp I reset my computer FAST. And the coup de grace came when getting on level 7 in the labyrinth where if you step off the path you will DIE INSTANTLY GETTING THOSE DAMN SKULLS. Arghhh. And this happened with each game with skulls. (I typed skullks the whole reply) Though this fear has mostly gone, they still upset me very much.
And then big spiders indoors (I don't mind those outdoors, I), ugly crawly insects and... deep water, if I look down deep water I feel like I'm going to fall anytime. I like having solid earth under my feet. Oh and when people pick me up by surprise (while joking), for the same reason I just typed.

i suffer from paranoia which i think i inherited from my dad but it grew severly worse when living with my x boyfriend after countless betrayals..
- fear of being alone in the dark - fear of being cheated on - fear of being betrayed - fear of loss
although the last 4 fears are slowly decreasing with alot of great help and patience with my fiance, still need work i have some very bad phases which cause me to go to very drastic measures which lead me to an uneasy state.. thankfully my bf is calm and is very honest <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
i still hate being out alone in the dark, i always feel like someone will come up and attack or rape me... maybe its a girl thing, but i beleive after all the warnings my mum gave me caused this to be a paranoid fear.. I refuse to go out anywhere further than the front lawn without someone i trust. The thing I fear above all, above everything, is losing all the data on my hard drive. That'd be a total catastrophe.
As for spiders, heights, busy signals (?), wasps, dogs, cats, confined spaces, open spaces or pretty much anything, I'm not scared. I love abseiling and rock climbing. Spiders inspire more caution than fear, seeing as how about half of Australia's spiders will either kill you or make you very sick.
Oooh! I thought of something!
Going into dark water in games. That just freaks me out. All the parts in HL1 and Opposing Force when there's those Ichthyosaurs that come up to you going "Grhghrghrrhhgrrggrgrggrrr". They freaked me out so bad that I'm loath to go in any water in any game. Especially if it's dark. Huge relief when I get out.
