Can't wait waiting now..
I'm about to boot it up. I'm so excited.

Did you download the patch as well? I'm done with the client, just waiting for the 3.0- 3.8 patch to finish downloading.. can't wait either.
I wish I could use an ingame tutorial before launching into random online games without a clue.

Lad, host a game and select "Sandbox" as the victory condition. Tick ready, and start the game. You can play around it now, without fear of being annihilated. Enjoy.
Maybe in a year I'll have a new computer.
It wont live up to the hype.
Lines + Slow download speeds = not cool.
ARe there any other mirrors hosting the file?

It isn't limited to paying users, laddie. You just have to register for a free account. Thats how I downloaded mine. Good luck.

Played it, didn't seem that amazing.
It wont live up to the hype.

Well, it seemed exactly like Total Annihilation to me. I loved TA, so I love Supreme Commander.
--Scythe--
The physics were amazing for that time though.
the nukes and commander explosion look sweeeeeeet. shame the nukes take 40 mins to build <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Or, you get several tech 3 engineers to assist the launcher, and it's done in way less then 5 minutes.
Fun game though, love the zoom thing, need to get another cable so I can hook up my laptop's screen to my desktop.
I'm so playing this. I loved TA. The only thing I thought sucked was the resource system.
The physics were amazing for that time though.

I found out the res system amazing. You have more than one option to get to build something: rely on a big stockpile of energy and metal: building will slowly decrease but that's OK seeing as how you've got huge reserves, or rely on huge quantities of metal and energy sources: building will not even take resources out of your pool. you can mix and match to your liking, hell you can even change during construction. It's quite lovely to start building something before you have enough resources to build it, and tweak your resource intakes accordingly. For example, you start off a construction with a construction aircraft, ask the commander to help in for a bit to go faster, then when your resource pool goes down, take the aircraft off and tour around a bit to gather some metal off of nodes.
It's much more interesting than "pay X amount of Y, and we'll start doing this", then again it's maybe because I love this game.
Just rebuilt my PC, but I never got the RAM from the shop because they'd underpriced it and so withdrew it from my order (by £14, Savastore.com FT<u>L</u>). Because I'd budgeted the parts right down to the wire I couldn't really afford anything comparable so I did some early Christmas shopping figuring I could survive until payday on 512MB RAM.
Wrong.
I found out one of my paired 256MB sticks has mysteriously died, so I'm left with a measly 256MB bottlenecking what's otherwise a very respectable rig (A8N32-SLi Deluxe {with heatpipe}, X1900GT, Athlon 64 3800+ with an ultra-quiet Zalman, WD Caviar 250GB SATA, Enermax Liberty 500W PSU).
Is there any hope of me being able to run <i>S'upComm?</i> with only 256MB RAM? If not I'm gonna have to wait until this Thursday before I can really lay into anything even slightly resembling a PC game. I played through 3 hours of Eternal Silence on the GC today already! Gah!
P.S. I tried running the Dark Messiah demo and it wasn't pretty (I mean that both literally AND metaphorically).
Nevertheless , it's obvious that Supreme Commander will rule strategy games.
Oooh ouch. 256 really isn't going to cut it. The games are going to be sad, as if a million voices suddenly cried out in pain, and were suddenly silenced. Your best bet? Uh, HL1 based games. I mean, 256 sucks.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Well, then, looks like it's RRootage and Eternal Silence for the next 5 days. Still, I can't wait to try SupComm. Screenies, anyone? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
