Voice Over Ip

anyone done this before?
I just downloaded VoipBuster (a voice over ip program) and it's awsome. But I was just wondering (for those who have done it before) how you can change the sound of your voice while talking to people? I have "voice changing" software but when I try using it with VoipBuster, the person on the other line can't hear anything. Has anyone here been able to do that without any problems?

Doesn't hear anything, or hears your voice without change?

Also, how does the software work? Does it take your microphone input, morph it and output it through the speakers?

You're going to have to make sure your input and output matches in both programs. If your voice changing program reads the microphone and transmits via the speakers, you're going to need to set the VOIP program to read the stereo out/wave/speaker/"What You Hear" input, and not the microphone input.

Most sound cards have voice morphing abilities built into them.

    In addition, what medhead said.

Our phones at work are VOIP based, rather than being a traditional phone system. It's pretty awesome for inner office stuff, as the quality is higher than that of a normal phone, and it's quite neat to just pick your phone up and take it when you are moved to another office (or whatever) and you just plug it in to any cat5 jack and your phone calls still go to you.

Other than that though they're just ordinary phones. Making calls to other states that are on a VPN kinda suck in quality though, we end up just going over the phone lines a lot of the time.
