    Dragonmech, somehow I doubt Cops is ever going to come to Sioux Falls, there isn't enough crime to warrant it.

    I know a few people allergic to paprika. If that variant was used on a person allergic to the variant how would you stand if you were to be sue'd etc?

    PS: I'm hoping you know this as I know there is a new type of spray coming out in England because pepper spray is unsafe and has caused alot of injuries from police over the last few years.

    Alrighty, I shall break it down a bit as one week has gone by and those that pay attention in the IRC room... will know what happened, they may skip this part.

    Day 2:

    Peppersprayed. (Yes I was, and it wasn't that bad)

    Class work (More studying of various police procedures, not the laws just yet)

    Day 3:

    Phyiscal assement day.
    <ul><li>1. Run 3 miles (Just had to make it, was not allowed to stop)</li><li>2. Run up stairs carrying 150lbs, then go down, then go backup, then go down backwards.</li><li>3. Must complete at least 100 pushups, nonstop.</li><li>4. Must complete at least 100 situps, nonstop.</li><li>5. Run another mile after completing the last few items.</li><li>6. Obstacle course (running, jumping and etc)</li></ul>
    We lost 3 possible officers that day, as they were unable to complete said assement. There are only 3 spots open, which means we are down to four of us, so one more has to be weeded out.

    Day 4:

    More coursework in police procedures, followed by another run only two miles this time.

    Day 5:

    Finished up police basic procedures in the class, including driving technicalities.

    Next week is, driving instruction, we don't get to actually drive till the week after.
    That next week is when we will lose someone else, as you must parallel park your cruiser in a certain amount of time and be out of the car, ready for action in also a certain amount of time. Untill I get those times, I won't know how fast you have to be, but I know it is under a minute. Not sure how far under though.

    Obviously the pushup part wasn't monitored closely. That, or the class size was small with only physical fitness buffs drafted. Or maybe they were all allowed to do gurlie pushups. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    (100 pushups are doable. My current quota is at 50 a night, but you can up that within a month if needs be.)

    Man I don't know. There are a lot of fat arsed cops around, no way they're doin 100 straight pushups. Or 100 situps. Or the three mile. I mean, you don't have to do that to get into the Can Forces.

    Let's look at the "phyiscal assement day":

    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->1. Run 3 miles (Just had to make it, was not allowed to stop)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Doable <b>IF</b> the participant is in reasonable shape, with non-stop being the key word.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->2. Run up stairs carrying 150lbs, then go down, then go backup, then go down backwards.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    This of course would be primarily dependent on the number of stairs. Think about this - you have to carry approximately your own weight up and down these stairs <b>TWICE</b>. And then go down backwards the last time.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->3. Must complete at least 100 pushups, nonstop.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Again, doable <b>IF</b> the participant is in reasonable shape. Joe Blow off the street is not going to be able to accomplish this.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->4. Must complete at least 100 situps, nonstop.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    A cakewalk ... very few people should fail this.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->5. Run another mile after completing the last few items.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Non-stop wasn't mentioned here, so this should be doable.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->6. Obstacle course (running, jumping and etc)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    The primary factor here would be the difficulty of said course. If it was simply average, a participant in reasonable shape who had successfully completed the above should be able to breeze through it.

    I can certainly see why 3 participants failed the above testing. Having a background in exercise physiology, I have to wonder how much warning the recruits had in order to prepare for this ... this could be a key factor to their passing.

    I can easily answer that one one for you as I have the letter in my hand, this morning. :-)

    Lets see... we have a general outline of the above assement, they do not mention how long the final run was, and they say nothing about the obstacle course(in this one). However, this letter is dated... April, 14th of 2005, so I would have recieved around the 17th or so.
