I finally saw Saving Private Ryan last week (yeah, I know, I suck at seeing movies), and now I really see what the primary inspiration for most of DoD is. However, I think they could do a whole hell of a lot more with the gameplay using Source than they could with HL1. Stuff like tanks, mines, setting up fortifications, blowing up buildings - just watch the last scene in SPR to see what I mean.
I'm looking forward to it nonetheless, although it's probably not gonna come out until December at this rate. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> dod is fast infantry war and thats what makes it interesting. play battlefield 2 if you want to play around with tanks and stuff.

with all the fighting and exploding youd expect those power lines to be down already. btw, is it even breakable?

Is it just me or did it seem like you can now instantly deploy your machine guns now when you go prone or run up against some sand bags/window sill etc?

All I know is that they better add some ironsights as well as make the prone a bit more pretty and sweet to look at. I hate how all the shooting is done from the hip... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Why would you discount an entire game because of handnades? At least rip on the fact that it's repetetive, unrealistic, devoid of teamplay, and has pointless objectives. But handnades? Who the hell cares....

Keep in mind that I use the word "working" in the broad sense, as I would in: "they are working on Duke Nukem Forever". The same way I would use the word "soon" in the context of "and soon the red giant will collapse into a white dwarf".

I hope they give the ragdolls weight and tendons, because the current ones bob around like they're 50 pounds and bend like they're experienced gymnasts.
And unless you manually change the pushscale of weapons, they all seem to collapse in the same way (straight down on their backs, both legs bent at the knee). Maybe that's just me, though.
