The Government Influenced Google Maps

That's right guys...the U.S. Government influenced Google Maps. How do I know this? Let me explain. I was bored the other night and so I decided to play around with Google Maps' satellite imagery. I thought, "Let's see if we can find Area 51". Alamo, NV is the closest town to Area 51. Well, after doing a little searching I did find it, but its...wierded out. Take a look at the images below and you'll see.

Area 51 on Google Maps at MAX alotted zoom level:
<img src='http://img32.echo.cx/img32/8981/area5113dh.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

If we try to zoom in any further, we get:
<img src='http://img32.echo.cx/img32/8972/area5128fw.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Weird huh? Not really, it makes sense if you think about it. Just thought I would share

    this means nothing, half the the google sat. image regions are super blurry or non-existant at that level and closer except major cities.
    edit: This means 1 of 2 things: google sat. images sux, or half the US is involved in some top-secret thing that's so secret everyone's in it but doesn't know it.
    I'm going for # 1. Or is that what <i>they</i> want me to do?

    It's that way around every military base. Try zooming in on the Coast Guard acadamy.

    To me, the best example is Washington DC itself.
    Most of it looks fine. Heck, you can even look at the White House.
    But can you look at Congress? Pfft. Pixellated beyond recognition.
    Now, I expect government and military buildings to have some sort of protection. But why the complete emptiness at old military sites, the extreme pixellation of Congress, and nothing for the White House?

    Out of interest I looked up congress.

    Because, nothing really takes place at the white house besides naughty stuff.

    There are some very close up pictures of Area-51. Showing a B2 bomber and I must say that airplane is gigantic. Was about 3 tracter trailers from wing tip to wing tip. Was on the SA forums some where :/

    And I have a distint memory of SR-71 Black Birds also being show and a B2 taking off from an air strip. I must search for these!

    Seems pretty obvious that they would try to restrict the availability of satellite images of government buildings and military bases....

    Some of the pictures are old, there's a dirt field near my house in the photo where there has been a neighborhood for about a year and a half now.
