Well, new crap has come up. First off, In the middle of Wednesday night (Thursday morning) my joystick snapped at the base. Somehow, I managed to both maintain level flight long enough to convince my copilot that yes, he did actually need to bail out, then bail out myself. Next up, last night, I happened to encounter a conspiracy of incompetence between my boss and the personnel office, (They asked him If I had worked this week, he told them, truthfully, that he hasnt seen me all week. He didnt tell them we work different hours.) and I got home to find my room padlocked shut. So I have not mine own computer at the moment. But I did finally get my third Radeon 9800 Pro, after the first 2 were sent back for RMA (The first one spontaneously died, after about 4 months of use, the replacement they sent me was a bad card, and artifacted horribly, similarly to the crazy imagery shown on those GF4 BF2 screens earlier in this thread) So I have a new card, I just cant use it. And I need a new joystick. And I cant sort things out with personnel till they reopen, on monday. And even then, I may be out for a week.

In other things, I believe long ago, Doom asked about the Split-S? Its basically a reverse Immelman. You start at high altitude level flight, do a 180 degree roll, (so that the cockpit is facing down) and then pull up on the stick, till you regain level flight. (Cockpit up) So, from the side, it looks like a U shaped turn, starting at high altitude, and ending at low altitude.

It's just fun to collect stuff. I went out of my way to get all the guns in Hitman: Contracts even though most of them suck balls. By the way, if you don't want to bother with annoying classes, just get the badge in a vehicle. You only need to get ten kills while using the kit - you don't even have to fire the weapon.

Edit: And, wow, that's sucks soap.

This man speaks the truth. The Black Hawk is a gift from God. Engineers in the back seats are the Holy Guardians of God's Almighty Gift to his humble servants.

By the way, somebody posted a badges/awards guide on Gamefaqs. Read through it and you'll see that the only way to get anything beyond the basic badges is through total dedication to the game. The only reason I have a pair of ribbons is because of sheer luck (and a Black Hawk flag-snagging squad). Just look at the requirements under the "Medals" section; they're unbelievable.

Stats only update at the end of rounds. If you get a ribbon and leave before the round is over, it doesn't count.

Wrong, I've heard they update after 5mins of playing but I might be wrong. However you do keep awards even if you disconnect before the round is over, it just takes some time to put em in yer rank. I got basic anti-air and then disconnected when there was one guy left on the other team, it didn't show up when I checked but the next day it was there.

The stats tracking system sucks so much. I've been robbed of four ribbons, a few gold medals, every basic class badge (I've gotten basic engy combat four times now and it hasn't been recorded), and a few other vehicle badges. All I've been trying to do the past week is get badges so I can just play whatever I want and not feel silly for being badgeless. I only just got a ribbon recorded last night, and it's one of the ribbons I got before. So, so lame.

You MUST play till the end of the map, and about 10 min into the next one, for it to register properly. LEast, that's what EA says

    BTW- where do yall play?

Yeah guys. I know. I'm not the ****ing idiot you seem to think I am. I've gone full rounds, even full map cycles after getting awards and not have it update to my profile. While I haven't had any trouble with it today, I've been cheated out of many more awards than I've actually recieved, and it's gotten really annoying. Not as annoying as when people try to lecture me on obvious details, but annoying nonetheless.

Spetz, you have entry points for all the flags? Does that mean each time you play all you have to do is aim your gun at an entry point and wait for a bad guy to show up? I'd imagine if you have preset tactics for room clearing and such, I'd know exactly where to lob a grenade.

And that whole tournament thing looks neat but there's no way I'm paying $10.

It more laying mines, c4 etc and where to hide and ambush from etc.

Well, unlike you I never got any of those awards, and had to earn them again. I got almost all of my ribbons back yesterday after looking up the requirements and playing only to get them (parachute ribbon was fun), but I'm still short a bunch of stuff I already had.

I just plain love good gunners

Fu she pass. I joined as american and ran straight for the chopper. One guy was already sitting in it, in the gunner position. I flew off and we completely dominated the map . Died only once, took out 5 enemy choopers and he made about 50 kills. That guy even used the tv-missles (although he only hit once with em).
It was pretty awesome and earned me the basic heli badge, as well as the air service ribbon. And i was called an awesome pilot (not that i didnt knew already, but it is always nice to hear).

I am an excellent gunner too often partnered with the worst pilots this world has ever seen. People that spin around aimlessly and go back to re-arm when we haven't fired a single shot or been hit; people that crash into the first tree they can find; people that do nosedives into the dirt while trying to strafe tanks (they never, ever hit); and, most annoying of them all, people that spend 90% of the time only ten feet from the ground, and then complain that I can't hit anything with the TV-guided missiles. The sheer number of stupid people I have encountered in this game simply astounds me. I've seen pilots try to capture a point with a chopper despite there being an enemy tank beneath them - one they could see from a mile out!

Sigh. #nsbfs2, please! I need good pilots to play with!
