These numbers shall be fun.
Alrighty, well you all know that massive virii infestation when I single handedly saved man-kind from the possible Matrix future.

Time to start guessing on the amount of SPYWARE/MALWARE on the computer.

No updates, it will only be one run through since it is attached to a different computer and therefore easily cleaned.

Guess NOW!.

(Side note: Picutures of virus counts shall be posted in a few mins, after the spyware scans are done.)

hmmmm... Not having any idea of how severe the spyware might be in addition to viruses...

20,000 file or... 5,000 spyware programs.

What program(s) will you be using for the Ad-ware/Spy-ware check?
  • CyndaneCyndane Join Date: 2003-11-15 Member: 22913Members
I will be using three programs
    Microsoft Anti-Spyware
    Ad-aware SE
    Spybot

The final virii count was 340,000.

So I am now waiting for the ad-aware to finish, ms has run already, and spybot is left.

So, what number are we trying to guess then? Each one will probably find some stuff that the others don't find, but it usually isn't easy to identify common files between the different programs.

Well surprisingly, or not surprisingly the spyware/malware count ended at 36.
    Which means that...
     RENEGADE wins

Now this means renegade that you must now tell me what picture you would like for me to create for you. I have sent a PM just in case you don't see this message.

Here is the final scan logs of the Virus counts, as you can see I didn't lie when I said it had found a total of around 340,000 viruses.

Thanks for all those that guessed and it has actually made this nightmare of a comptuer fixing well worth the time I have put into it just for the funny answers I have been getting back.

Perhaps I shall run this type of a contest more often, if I find a computer this bad again.

Yeah I'm kinda glad your spyware count is low, for your reputation's sake. (Hint : Lot's of spyware usually means porn sites have been visited )

EDIT - Although large amounts of spyware can be built up from sort of a chain reaction. (Run a P2P program, and get 5. Thoes 5 in turn install 10 each. Etc.)

Umm.. you missed the first post.. which is ok.

This isn't my computer, I am fixing it for one of my clients, since if it was my comptuer I highly doubt it would keep running after 340,000 virii were found on it.
