<div class="IPBDescription">again yay</div> OK So right now I have a pretty decent setup:

Intel P4 2.8GHz
1GB DDR
GeForce 6600GT
60GB Seagate ATA HD
80GB Seagate ATA HD
400W PSU

I want to get some better stuff now that I have a job (fun fun). I want to get a new mobo, CPU and case. Heres what I want to get so far:

<a href='http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80724-R' target='_blank'>AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 1600mhz FSB</a>

<a href='http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1179727&CatId=1569' target='_blank'>Asus A8N SLI Motherboard</a>

<a href='http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1213311&Tab=1&NoMapp=0' target='_blank'>Case Choice 1</a>
<a href='http://www.nzxt.com/Guardian.php' target='_blank'>Case Choice 2</a>

If I go with the SLI mobo then I'll wait a little bit and buy another 6600GT.

    You need more HD space...

    If you don't have at least 1/2 a terabyte total, you failed at life. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    ive failed then too.....

    I have 1/5 lol.

I would go with the first case though, since it looks more like a computer, the other one looks just like you're trying too hard....

A little correction, the Athlon 64 4000 was only ever made with a 2000MHz HT bus, the 1600MHz buses are only found with socket 754 chips.

If your getting that nuts of a processor, get 2 gigs of ram, and please make sure to get a dual channel setup, it gives noticably better performance.

Another thing, if your not going to use 2 graphics cards, go for a regular nForce 4 ultra and save a few bucks. It also gives a little more expansion space.

I would also upgrade the PSU, especially if its generic, I would never run an SLi rig with less than 450 watts. I believe 400 is a listed minimum, and with 2 HDDs and a fast cpuy, thats definitely pushing it.

Its a decent choice though, too bad upgrading to a 64 bit system basically makes the minimum u can pay like 450 bucks.... (since pcie is REQUIRED)

There's no need to upgrade your hard drive if you don't feel the need. As long as your drive is good enough for you, you don't need any upgrading, just up the space before you absolutely need it (for example, I have on my own computer only 100 GB, and that's plenty for me)
