    Done.

Couldn't resist putting "nanites" for the last one though.

Thanking back, it wasn't even that funny

    I took it.

For all the people who create these surveys, I hope you realize that by posting in an NS forum, you're getting a demographic that will skew your results.

We have people from alot of different forums including MMORPG's and I stood outside GAME today and took 40 surveys! and it was cold!

    The amount of people suggesting nanites is ridiculous <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Thanks alot for your time guys. We got over 150 replies to the survey!

There are some elements to the game that I am not allowed to talk about but maybe you will see fork release their first title in the near future and remember you helped mould it!(exept the guy to said boobies would improove the game <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

PS. Its funny how many people are compairing the game idea to NS cause noone but me has heard of NS and I wasn't in the team during the game development <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Done, all the idea needs is some tweaking, and some thought put into the consumers who don't want to be on the front line of the action, those who take a support role, like I do in NS, Savage, and UT2004, and you could be in for a good idea.

In other news, do I get a prize for spotting that your avatar is from the same stable as the "Concept Art" section of your website (same artist)?

    *edit*
However, the idea of a mass, and persistant war take too much from Planetside, and the idea of a confined, small-level skirmish between marine and aliens takes too much from Natural-Selection. Sorry to say this, but the game concept appears to be a mismash of what everyone finds good in those two games. Games shouldn't be like that, one of your questions in the survey was "Do you like the FPS/Online genres", to which one of the answers was "It needs some good ideas". Just by pushing 2 ideas together does not make a new game. Which was the reason why I hesitated to actually buy UT2004.

Sorry about the slap down, but it had to be said...

A persistant war is taken by Planetside? God forbit that someone makes a game with a war that keeps going on. If nobody could us an idea used before, games would suck. "Reloading? Your guns have reloading? Half-Life did that. You can't just mash together games you like." Besides, 4 players coodrinating against aliens is nothing like NS, where it's 9 players trying NOT to coordinate while 1 player screams at them.

Assuming the aliens look better than ol' one eye on your front page (boy oh boy that reflection in his eye is going to kill computers if there's more than one of him), that game sounds pretty fun.

Ahh, I see, so that it was NS's "Teamwork to win" is really about, and there was me thinking that it had some kind of command structure, with a commander able to dish out weapons, buildings, and orders to his grunts, which would continually respawn, much to the commander delight, as he sends wave, after wave, for his loyal men to be completely, and utterly ripped to f***ing bits by that little cloaked s***e of a 10-year old, who just evolved to the biggest, most bad-**** alien that you ever did see this side of Sesame Street. Pardon my ignorance, I take my whole post back...

I am fully aware that if no-one got to use everyone else's ideas then games would be dominated by the likes of The Sims, all with their own unique properites, and content, and thusly genres would be non-existant. But my point was not focused on the fact that the "Team Survivor" game was a cross between PlanetSide, and NS, but the fact that in the survey, one of the questions was about mow important original ideas are in modern videogames are. Do you really think that The Sims, and The Sims 2, plus their 1000-odd expansion contents (I think 1k is accurate for the amount of hard drives you could fill with The Sims content...), would have really sold as much as they did if it had a different core concept.

Even if the game isn't full of unique ideas, it takes a really good game, very polished and complete, to be a viable seller. Take Final Fantasy 7. Many of the ideas in FF7 were actually established and used in the previous 8 FF games (And yes, 8 is right, Mystic Quest, and Tactics). But FF7 was a massive hit for how these second-hand ideas were bound together by a compelling storyline, and a believable main character, and his relationship with each of the 8 other central characters.

I'm not saying that the cross between PS, and NS would be a bad thing, and that it would never sell, but the game really needs to be polished before it gets accepted as a hit.
