Anyone know of any good action animes? Like GITS, but with more gunplay. Lots of gunplay.

Edit: preferably English dubbed

For anime w/ guns, I like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. But I'm an anime nub, so don't listen to me.

Spriggan, the website really speaks for itself, i uh, hope you have flash, and if you dont then it doesn't matter, because you're lost to me anyway.

(it's a recent anime, very action oriented, good plot, etc, it's an anime, what do you expect?)

Yeah, Cowboy Bebop is a 26 episode work of art, and deserves all the glory and worship bestowed to such a thing. when i watched the final episode i cried, and i am not ashamed.

Are the episodes in English too, or is it like the 2nd GIG of GITS (Eng. Subs only ).

Breakthrough, what sort of stuff are you looking for? Action? Thriller? Mystery?

Here's my big list of stuff to get;

Anything made by Hayao Miyazaki, includes but is not limited to;

Princess Mononoke.
Spirited Away.
Laputa; Castle in the Sky.
Howl's Moving Castle.

------------------------------
Anything made by Shinichiro Watanabe, includes but is not limited to;

Cowboy Bebop.
Samurai Champloo. <- You WILL love this series. More than you would imagine. Puts all other samurai anime to shame with it's greatness.

-----------------------------
Anything adapted from the works of Masamune Shirow, as follows;

Ghost in the Shell <- Movie #1
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex <- Tv series 1
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence <- Movie #2
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG <- Tv series 2

----------------------------
Action/Adventure:
Appleseed <- Movie. Full CG. Beautifully done. Don't know much about the OAV that came before it though.
Akira <- Movie. Very ground breaking. Cyberpunk.
Bleach <- Unlicensed. Grab it while it's hot. Fun actiony series.

Theres WAY more in the category. I'm tired though. So I'll leave it to the others.
----------------------------
Mecha:
Full Metal Panic
Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid <- You'll have to wait on this one as it airs Fall 2005.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth <- Movie #1
Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion <- Movie #2
RahXephon
RahXephon: Pluralitas Concentio <- Movie

----------------------------
Philosophical /Special Interest:
Haibane Renmei
Infinite Ryvius <- In my opinion it is, because when I see it, I think Lord of the Flies.
Kino's Travels
Grave of the Fireflies <- Incredibly sad, beautifully done portrayal of World War 2.
Paranoia Agent <- Crazy to watch, no promises that it will make any sense though.
Serial Experiments: Lain <- Up to you. Some like it, some hate it.

MORE TO BE ADDED.

Definitely check out Noir. It's not completely focused on action, but the action scenes are amazingly well done, the plot is pretty cool and the music is great.

I haven't seen the dub, but I honestly couldn't recommend it. Dubs usually have sub-par voice acting, and the voices feel all wrong for the characters. I'm not going to get all zealot on you, but I strongly recommend that you watch it with subs. What's wrong with subs, anyway?

Don't worry. I'm going to bring out the big guns on this.

**EDIT**
I'm tired. Too tired to notice that I wasn't listing all action. Oh well. Once a salesmen, always a salesmen. This time it's anime instead of shoes though.

I really like:

Cowboy Bebop
FLCL

I quite like:

The Animatrix
Ghost in the Shell Movie
Ghost in the Shell TV Show
Cowboy Bebop Movie

I sorta like:

Trigun
Paranoia Agent

Most of these have both dubs and subs. Anything that's been on Cartoon Network has been dubbed well (not necessarily expertly, but not anywhere near painful).

I liked Trigun, but I thought that most of the love story was handled badly and it had too many anime cliches.

Anime Cliches are like ninjas. There are too many to count. They all come at you at the same time. Avoiding them is nearly impossible. And when they come, killing yourself to escape them seems all too feasible.

Can I flame you?

Lot's of gun play?
Im not sure if City Hunter anime was ever released in North America. Seen the series years ago. Surprisingly, the anime's much better than manga.

I'm Shoji Kawamori's biggest fanboy, right now, I'm downloading Sousei no Aquarion, another mech anime with buttload of religious reference.

Dominion Tank Police? It's by a manga by Masamune Shirow, the guy who wrote the original manga of Ghost in the Shell. Lots of destruction

Since no one's really on topic much anymore, I'll recommend Jin-Roh: The Wolf's Brigade and Last Exile. The former at least has guns but it's not really an action movie... The latter's totally unrelated, though; primarily takes place in the sky. I think both have dubs...

seeing as you like action and gunplay and english dub then cyber city oedo will give you all the fix you need if you can find it... outside of that I'm not recommending anything else because dubbing is the devil :p

Asking an internet forum if there are any good animes is a lot like going into a Barnes & Noble and asking if there are any good books.

You'll probably get sacked. :P
