not all dubbs are bad? sure! Not all humans are born with 5 digits on each hand... it happens but it's so rare it's not really worth caring about :p

ADV's dubbs for dragonhalf were quite good and their work on the Slayers OAVs is acceptable too (cynthia martinez's rendition of lina is different yet still strangely in character) with the exception of Naga who's done so well I often find myself forgetting it's not the japanese voice actress.

On the other side of the coin, never, ever, ever, ever watch slayers the series dubbed. Lisa Ortiz makes the most annoying attempt to portray a character (lina) that's ever forced it's way into my poor ears -.-
Let's not forget the rest of the cast for the slayers tv series dubb also dubbed pokemon... heck one of the baddies has the exact same voice as jessie from team rocket :s

I issue a similar challenge, but with Hellsing instead. I found the dubbed voices to be superior to the original Japanese voices. For one, they were actually British. Whoever they had to the boss lady (whom I have forgotten the name of, heh) was a terrific casting choice.

integra hellsing.

To be honest when I saw blood I was hit with an amazing image of a world where the people in films/anime/whatever just talk in their proper language voiced properly by people from the country who also happened to not suck at voice acting.
Subtitles would be shown for the appropriate countries :p

Blood for example has english subtitles where jp is spoken on the english version, but a lot of the film is in english because the chars are american and stuff. While I've not checked it wouldn't be too hard to imagine the japanese got the english bits subbed with the jp left as is :3

Integral Hellsing. The casting for Hellsing was indeed pretty nifty, expecially for Jan Valentine. It was pretty hilarious whenever he spoke...even if it was mostly profanity. You can't get that kind of entertainment from subtitles.

I think you'll find End of Evangelion should be in the will-break-your-brain-for-a-week catagory.

*edit* That's not to say it is a bad movie, far from it. The series was average at best, but the movie was OMGZOR.

I enjoy watching Naruto and they are around episode 125. It's more emotional and dramatic than action or effects. And I will say this:

Hayao Miyazaki is an anime legend.

Porco Rosso
Princess Mononoke
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Nausicaa: The Valley of the Wind
Kiki's Delivery Service
My Neighbor Totoro
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away

Seems like a lot, but they go fast and are awesome to watch. It's not much action, but it's more dramatic and emotional. There are some with no clear bad guys, but about overcoming differences of people. The music is moving and fits in. This isn't your shallow, mech, shooting type of anime.

Hayao Miyazaki is love. I own Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away on DVD, and they've been watched many times over. Never gets old. Definitely a watch, or many.

The Cowboy Bebop movie + episode dubbing isn't bad, it's fairly good IMHO. Alas, it's a great anime

it's a lesser known anime... it's about street fighting, so it's for those that liked fight club...

Air Master - again, it's un-lisenced so you'll have to find ways to get it.

main character is a female in a school uniform, so there's alot of looking up her skirt and boob jokes.... it's fun!

and of course, the calssics: trigun, BeBop, Akira, anything Matsume, The Cat Returns, Grave of Fireflies.
