<div class="IPBDescription">Pure. Awesome.</div> If this has been posted before, I'm sorry, the search function didn't like looking for goldeneye.

Looking around the intarweb today I came accross what I had been wanting to do for ages. That is, make a source mod based on old - school ownage goldeneye. This is just awesomeness in the making, and I can not wait until this is released.

    If I want to play Goldeneye, <i>I'll go play Goldeneye</i>.

    Why on earth do people waste their time, skills and energy on remaking a game that already exists, which is itself based on IP rights they almost certainly haven't obtained permission to use?

    The bridge part in HL2 reminds me of cradle.

    Sorry, but Perfect Dark improved just about every single aspect of Goldeneye tenfold. Every single little tiny thing that was good in Goldeneye was included in PD.

    you have to admit, 4 player N64 style is hardly the same as 16+ player PC style.


    The only thing that needs to be left out of this conversion is Oddjob, you would get servers filled to the brim with him otherwise.

    The only reason Goldeneye was fun was the social aspect. Same thing with Halo. They're both just below average shooting games when you take away being able to talk **** to your friends after fragging them.

    are you kidding me? back in my console days i played goldeneye solo 24/7..

    and i think this is a great idea.. id love to have goldeneye on the pc with improved graphics... its FAR from a waste of time and effort... lots of people do/will appreciate it and i doubt ea or rare or whoever developed goldeneye will get mad about it.. its just a free hl2 mod...

    Bah. Goldeneye was a sub par first person shooter whose strengths were the cool effect of tracers flying around in hallways and painful death animations. And the ability to actually play an FPS on a console but that doesn't matter since we have PCs now and you lose that when you port it to Source in any case.

    It had the movie tie in. It had bond.

    Perfect dark had a random woman. And aliens. And area-51


    Thinking about it, PD was the better game, and had a more accomplished multiplayer, but goldeneye was just more fun.

    Multiplayer GE was so cool back in the day.
    Rockets only matches were hilarious.

    About all you people saying that Perfect Dark is better then Goldeneye, which it's just an opinion, I think they're both awesome, there <b>is</b> a Perfect Dark Source mod that I saw earlier today as well. I'll edit this post if I find the website again.

    QFT

    The only thing I didn't like about the mutliplayer was the set weapon pre-sets that you couldn't change, unlike in Perfect Dark. But Automatics was the best set-up.
