<div class="IPBDescription">... never had an HDTV. :D</div>(Note that my photography skills suck. And the camera is really old and low-res)
As some of you know, after many trials and tribulations I have finally acquired a HDTV that meets all my requirements and, as an added bonus, isn't defective. And it only took 10 trips to Best Buy/Circuit City/Ultimate Electronics and the purchase of 4 different TV's to do it! But enough of the past, its time look at the future.
And the future is in high definition.
Behold the awesome:
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Pictures/HDTV/Setup.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
My new TV. I love how all my consoles fit on one shelf. :D
(the X-Box is my roomate's and will only be temporarily hooked up)
<img src='http://www.doomaniac.com/stuff/Pictures/HDTV/Stand.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
I picked this stand up to hold my games, controllers, etc. It looks nice, and matches the TV well as they both have grey/black schemes.
HDTV signals look supurb, and even non-HD signals look quite a bit better than before. But the real pwnage is with what I spend most of my time on: DVDs and games.

Lastly, I leave you with the most awesome picture ever captured by my digital camera (even sexier than the strippers):

What?! No DVI inputs... DIE DIE DIE.
QFT.
Nice console collection btw, needs a bit more <a href='http://www.nescapades.com/gameroom.htm' target='_blank'>work</a> though I think <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
lol. I just realized the error in the title.
Medhead: heh. Yeah, I'm not much on decorating. All my walls are bare. I just dunno what I'd decorate with.. I mean I don't really care...
Cold NiTe: Oops.
My parents gave them away/threw them out <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But nice TV. Very nice.

Save the cash you would spend on decor on stuff like your HDTV there and you'll be just fine.
Please. I want HL2 on that thing so bad.
Isn't it widescreen though? HL2 can run in widescreen.
Native resolution is 1920x720... It'll display 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280xsomething, and a whole range of em. It actually gives you resolutions and refresh rates in the book, it's got like a 3 page section in the manual on 'hooking up your pc'. :P

I assumed that "PC Display Capability: VGA, SVGA, XGA" meant that you couldn't display higher resolutions off of PCs, but I guess I'm wrong.
My dad has a 52" Mitsubishi DLP and I've had problems getting computers and game systems to run at higher than 800x600 (for the computers) and the regular TV resolutions (for the game systems), but I don't have anything better than the regular yellow cable (and a S-Video -> yellow cable connector for the PC).
nhh.. doomeh... sex... craving irrisistable..... must molest HDTV!!!!! and then doomeh, sex with the tv first, then doomeh, right.
damn man, that does it, no furniture for me, ever... no more! nothing but tv's from now on.
You need DVI (or MAYBE component, though i doubt it) to do anything more than 800x600.
