Dudes and dudettes, this is The Werewolf Game IV: Freya.

I hope I can live up to the examples set by my predecessors, Renegade and Freak. They're both in the game, so they'll be watching closely. Help. D:

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we?
The game will start on <b>Friday, the first of April, 18:00 GMT.</b> At that time, I will post the introduction. Shortly afterwards, each of you will get a PM from me, in which I disclose your role as well as the password for the IRC channel, <b>#ns-twg</b> .
The <b>wolves, guardian</b> and <b>seer</b> will then PM me their various choices. The psychic won't receive any special information on night one, as everyone will know how many wolves are still alive - all of them.

We will have <b>FOUR (4) WOLVES</b> in this game. This is one more wolf than TWG I-III had, but I think the higher playercount warrants it.

Everything else you need to know about the game can be found <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90852' target='_blank'>here.</a> If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them, either in PM or in this thread. Posting in this thread might give you a faster response if other people chime in.

Assuming a Norse theme, given the name?

I edited my timezone into my post on the signup thread after the fact, but I guess you missed it, so I live in the land of PST!

Oh, and I don't like my charsheet, I want to rerole!

The thought hadn't even occurred to me. That'd be pretty cool. Crap. Ah well, a different host can do that.

No, the theme is sci-fi. Sorry if that's a disappointment to anyone. But seriously, this is a forum for a sci-fi game, so chances are that you are not wholly intolerant of the genre.

    Woo. Looking forward to playing, especially with a sci-fi theme. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I will now proceed to randomly generate a string of eighteen numbers, from one to eighteen. The first three numbers will be the wolves. The next three numbers will be the seer, guardian and psychic, in that order. Then I will relentlessly tease you all because I know all the roles and you don't! Mwahahaha!

Argh, I suck. Here I put four wolves in the game, and then only define three. Luckily I still have the sequence handy. Number seven on the list will also be a wolf.

Edit: The giddyness! I can hardly remain seated!

Why oh why can't the channel just be moderated (+m'd)? It will be much more interesting to watch that way...
  • lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
As soon as every single TWG IV player has signed up with authserv and been given peon in the channel, we will seriously consider doing that.

The channel is already moderated. You just automatically get voice once you join.

By the way, to make an authserv account, type this on IRC
    /msg AuthServ@Services.GameSurge.net REGISTER <account> <password> [email]
Then check your email, get the cookie(yum!)
    /msg AuthServ@Services.GameSurge.net COOKIE <account> <cookie>
    Then to login
    /msg AuthServ@Services.GameSurge.net AUTH <account> <password>

That's the long way of doing it, don't know if that even works on Gamesurge.

    /authserv register <account> <password> <email>
    /authserv auth <account> <password>

Never heard of the cookie one before though.

I can't wait - this looks really fun. With any luck no one will notice my newbie-ness and i won't get instalynched on the first day. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I took it off the Gamesurge authserv help commands. Email might be optional though, and I don't think cookie is required without email.

Last I knew, email is required... cookie sets your allowed hostmask.

Wow... What a time for my internet connection to become unreliable. Here's to getting instalynched by phantom votes!
  • ByekaByeka Name changed from Freak83 Toronto Join Date: 2003-03-13 Member: 14484Members, Constellation
Seeing how days usually last 24-48 hours, I think you'll have plenty of time to make alternative internet plans to vote if you're having trouble getting on.

He can avoid phantom votes, but he can't avoid the suspicion we will have due to him never being around IRC.

Who locked the IRC channel? Why didn't I get the key sent to me? (At the time of posting this, no one with op status in the channel is on the forum that could possibly be in the process of sending PMs.)

It's not locked, #ns-twg is still open.
