Need Help
<div class="IPBDescription">with videocard->tv output</div> OKay so here's the problem: Im viewing my computer screen from my TV as a secondary screen... IN BLACK AND WHITE.
So to clear things out, I have:
-an Ati Radeon 9200 video card with an s-video output.
-A cable with both ends being s-video (see picture)
<img src='http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/ce/ht/0831b.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
-a TV with <b>no</b> composite inputs (see picture)
<img src='http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/ce/ht/0831c.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Therefore Im using a scart cube with an s-video input to transfer the picture. I just bought the both cable and the new scart cube from a local store today (Monday), and Im rather sure there's nothing wrong with them. I've re-re-rechecked that everything is in their place firmly, I have the right settings regarding PAL/NTSC issues. (The tv is PAL, the output is in PAL). I updated my vidcard drivers earlier today trying to cover the issue, but no avail.
I even read and learnt this:
"After looking through all of your forum answers and finding no help whatsover, I went for a bit of creative thinking. I read somewhere that if your TV doesn't support S-VHS in through the SCART socket then only the luminance will get through into the composite in. I got to thinking that if I could force the chrominance in through the same pin then I would have composite in. After looking around I found the pinouts for the S-Video cable. If you have a cable with four pins, the chrominance and luminance pins are the two at the top (assuming you look at the pins with the plastic key at the bottom. Simply get some fuse wire (or a paperclip, or some tin foil, or whatever) and strap these two pins together. Simply create a link between the two, plug it back into the SCART plug converter thingy and, hey presto, colour output. "
So I connected the two uppermost pins firmly with tinfoil making sure only they are connected but even THIS didn't help.
Im running out of ideas and would really appreaciate some help or tips to check out for.. Thanks in advance!

My experience w/ PC based TV-Out has been..well... it sucks. The only good TV-out I've ever seen was from a media center pc w/ a dvi cable to a hd tv...
Good luck.
It's a S-video to Composite adapter that ATI ships with it's cards. (Or used to, my 9700 came with one.)
No other ideas here if you can't find that little dohicky.
Or maybe check your local computer store? They might have an extra adapter from an old card or something
Diazo
And yeah DOOManiac you're right, I had a little error slip in there <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As doom pointed out, what colour jacks do you have on the TV?
r/b/g, r/w/y, coax, dvi, hdmi, svid etc
your best bet is if you have rewd/white/yellow is the dongle that should have come with the card (if not it costs areound $20)
blech.
what about coax?
my guess would be that you scart box is messed up (or you are doing sometihng silly)
As I said, I am not familiar with scart at all..
soooo....
