    I think you need to add more alien action. You should actually have to shoot them, not seige a hive.. and wheres my alien training ?? !?

    basically the trainings map is made as far as you can go without doing alot of extra coding. The only thing in the map which was not covered by the engine was the mapchange.
    It was made to be able to be included in NS without much extra coding effort, in case the dev team would have wanted it.
    But now with all the feedback and a refreshed meat popsicle after the holidays, he might want to make a version two <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    WOW. That's all I can say. The sound was spot on, and the Comm part of it was most definately the most wholesome and knowledgeble thing in there. I might even just take out the comm seat for a whirl some time. Awesome. If you were to go on, then by all means, do.     if you ask me, i think a great idea is to host this file, for the new guys. Yes, we know its too late to put this IN NS, but, why not leave it be? a stand alone mod for the new guys that can do as i did, DL it, play through, learn stuff, delete it, and play some real NS

    Holy CRAP

    Maybe it's cause it's 1 am... but I played that and got fricken SCARED! THAT WAS AWSOME! Only 2 LITTLE bugs really-

    First time you enter the armory, you sometimes get stuck

    and when you go thru the vent to the med kits, the light panel I assume should be illusionary set to render as such? Cause the black around the lights... yeah... lol


    quick question- Why am I mentioned in the ending credits? I can't rememebr doing anything sepctacular for the map 0o'

    vlad, you might be in there because you did some mapmaking stuff that was really important to Meat? eh, I dunno.

    Oh, btw. Very good job on this, we were talking about the training map about 2 weeks ago, and I did a search and found the original thread or whatever.

    Downloaded this and was througouly impressed. I like how the other marines in stasis are gone, after the big explosion thingy. Heh. OMG NEWB TEAM.

    Realy great, just a few random things:

    1) There is no indecation to "Use" the weapon pictures
    2) once you leave the target range that door you need to go through is not necesarily obvious (I missed it the first time)
    3) when playing commander the scripted events need to be spaced out (if possible), so that you don't get your entire next objective as soon as you drop a strct, instead once you finish building it tells you to get back in, and THEN tells you what to do.....

    This is really nice, but you might want to do something about having to get your own bots or turn "SV_cheats 1" to play it properly. You might want to go over weapon/armor upgrades, too. Regardless, very nicely done. It's good enough stand alone right now, but maybe a "v2" of the map with some touch-ups that you could discuss with people on the forum could help.

    feedback was pretty much wat i expected, the map i released, was released cos i had been told it wuld never go official so i decided to polish it off and release it as it was.

    id say about 90% of the visual suggestions and bugs mentioned in this thread (and from the devs) i was <u>well</u> aware of but decided not to fix as there was no point for the reason mentioned above and i didnt want to keep ppl waiting any longer than they already had

    the majority of gameplay issues mentioned tho r out of my hands with the current engine\game ent limitations, other mappers will kno about this but for those who dont theres issues with the build struc ents, weapon ents, equip ents, mp3 ents, comm pack ents, starting rounds, ending rounds, and the list goes on. it wasnt easy
    just trust me, weve used every work around we can just to get it that far.

    and yeh i kno bits look cack, the arms cache in particular, this is something i wuld of redone completely if the devs had decided to implement it, and as for the weapon sounds in it i had 2 ppl who both started to do the sounds to a quality up to scratch lose interest half way thru so i just got my mate to do it, and i culdnt hav done it any better myself tbh <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    as for the future of the map? hmmm, i doubt i will do anything drastic like add an alien training section (which wuld be cool as i culd cut down some of the marine sections like the briefing) but theres just no point if the devs dont want it, they hav their own plans for the future of ns, this isnt part of it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> after the mostly positive feedback tho i will continue to work on the visual side of things when i get some spare time, and ill no doubt end up tweaking other things on the way, we shall see

    I agree with everyone else, its a really cool map or walkthrough or what you wanna call it but it needs some fixing and theres stuff thats not mentioned.

    I reaaaaally enjoyed this map, I thought this was a new thread and it was gonna be included in the game but apparently the devs declined it...

    I dont see why you could give the map "source" to the devs so they can polish it and make something "worthy" of being included with ns.

    I hate it when its so easy (at least thats how it looks from my point of view) to include great ideas and they are declined by the devs for whatever reason...

    to the OP, if you are still around, GREAT JOB!

    I think its part of the reason the devs are moving to a more intuitive play style. I thought over a year ago that NS needs a tutorial, and the ingame tooltips are nice but there needs to be something active for a player to play, to just go over basic movement and techniques of the skulk, gorge, fade, lerk, onos, marine, JP, HA, and comm.
