True...OMG WAREZ TALK
Though seriously, if anyone knows a place that I could get a install and still be able to reg my C-D key, tell me. I'm probably getting a new DVD rom drive tomorrow, but I'm just about ready to murder someone to play this game.
multiplayer is pretty cool, basically teams vs teams controlled by players <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

just because it looks like certain things in real life does not mean that the makers are attempting to convey a true sense of realism as opposed to simply making the game exciting.
Here's the Brothers In Arms <a href='http://www.gamershell.com/download_6313.shtml' target='_blank'>E3 Video</a>. It gives you the basic idea of what the game will be like. It's about 40 megs.
The realism is what makes this game addictive. It's nothing like CoD where ramboing is the easiest thing in the world. Shooting from the hip will hit anything etc etc. This game takes tactics and is a lot more fun because of it.

it is a bit harder to understand you than you think, Testament, because when you start to discuss it, you word it in such a way that it 1) becomes condescending 2) takes on more subject matter than you intended
<!--QuoteBegin-CommunistWithAGun+Mar 19 2005, 02:30 AM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (CommunistWithAGun @ Mar 19 2005, 02:30 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> I think he means games with bleeding, attempts at ironsights, etc. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Still, that doesn't mean the game developers were striving for Realism (capital R for the sake of clarity: ultra-realism). They placed more realistic elements to the game. That doesn't mean the team was striving for realism in every aspect.
Example of failed realism: Gran Turismo series. Where's the damage models? Example of realistic elements in a non-realistic game: Call of Duty.
These are two different things, and for the most part, most first person shooters fall under the second category; realistic elements in a non-realistic game.
Which brings us right back around to my first point - I'm sick of both those kinds of games AND games that are actually realistic. Seriously. Why do we need them? I got my fill of them at least a year and a half ago. I wanna go back to the good old days of shooting things in the face with rocket launchers, rail guns, and shock rifles.
In a shocking exclusive report, I dislike Quake-style gaming. I applaud games that attempt to add more realism to the game, while remaining entertaining. While I found Rainbow Six's extreme realism tiresome, I do appreciate its ambition.
Testament, while you complain about realistic games breaking up the action and speed of twitch gaming, I am frustrated with the ever increasing number of players trying to play twitch gaming in more realistic games. So, I've appointed you head of twitch gaming, and I am hereby requesting you to tell all twitch gamers to stop muddying my realism! Thank you very much!
Ah, I never said I only liked twitch gaming. I was saying that I was simply sick of all the "realistic elements" in games. Simply doing realism and arcade-style gameplay doesn't work. Countless games are doing it now, and quite simply, it's become the current design fad from what I can tell. I like a game that goes pure realism or pure twich gaming, but I can't enjoy the middle-ground.
Testament, if you don't like realistic games then why are you posting multiple times in this thread? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I guess I should clarify. I'm sick of games like CS, except instead of CS, they're CS in big desert enviroments. And a new one comes out every week. Wee. Fun.
On topic, BiA looks interesting, especially a WW2 game (it's a genre in itself now), but it'd probably kick my PC's ****. Oh well. It kinda seems like Full Spectrum Warrior, but with more first-hand action.

I have to agree, that sounds like a great idea.
I thought BiA was terrible but then again, I'm more or less sick of playing the same game repeatedly every so often. I really wish they'd just shoot this dead horse and go do something more interesting for once.

I like them all! And btw Medhead, don't bash Gran Turismo: You introduce a game thats more realistic to Car physics of every-day cars that includes Damage modeling, then come talk. As is, you can't get better than Gran Turismo, and the ONLY reason they don't have damage models is because <b>car companies require it on contract with every developer- they do not like their image to be maimed.</b>
Yes, I know that Quaunaut. It doesn't change anything; the game is rather realistic apart from the lack of damage on cars. And it's a glaring omission, contract or no contract.

Now that I've played it, I've gotta say:
Woah.
Really, my only beef with the game thus far is the weapons: Their too big on the screen in hip mode.
But WOW, this game is fun. I'm finding it a bit harder than I should but its awesome. I'm gonna go try the MP, see what happens <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And is another ww2 game?
yes another WW2 game but in the sense that Saving Private Ryan was "just another WW2 movie". i think you can grasp that.
