this map reminds me of ns_next, huge hallways and rooms with bare floors and ceilings .

add pipes, doors or something to the roof to make it not so flat.

ns_metal also has doors as "ceiling". its a scifi element. hthings you never see in reallife are interesting.

btw stop bumping this thread and show us the MAP! cant be taking so long to complete it judging from the screens...

Expand on that please? I am intrigued as to what makes you say that.

I would personally agree with Swiftspear at this time in the development of Galvanise.

Yes, many many many many many maps have rooms that appear functional... I'm not saying the map should be a perfectly designed space station, in the end of the day gameplay > realism, but it is nice if the mapper at least trys...

[edit] grav, did you just call spacers map oversimplistic?

I agree. When I made my map, I tried to think of a reason of this specific room being here and what this corridor would be used for and so on. It certainly helps the mapper and the player gets more immersed. Anyway, this is off-topic, but yes, I'd like to see some more rooms with 'meaning' in Galvanise.

You went to the park, dug a nice deep hole, covered it with some kind of trap door and refer to it as your room. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

SO EH. I decided to rebuild Galvanise for the following reasons:

    1: The layout was crap.
2: The architecture was bland and very unoptimised.

That's not to say I won't reuse SCUTTLE somewhere else in Galvanise, but I like the more muted, less "won't you take me down, down to funky town" style lighting in this version.

and where is based your map?
trade some red light for orange or yellow.
trade some white for blue or purple like altair.

In most of those shots I think you need to do away with the flat grey texture. It looks fine on the vaults but really makes the walls look purely geometric and not very convincing.

I'd like to see some of the old Co_galvanise styles used in the map still, but I have to say, this new style is VERY cool. Still alot more hallways then rooms, but at least the hallways look like functional space station hallways, and NOTHING feels boxy at all.
