I thought you were being sarcastic until the third thing. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Barely a thing here that couldn't be done in HL1. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Really disappointing for a first look. I mean, the first Aztec CS:S shots looked pretty poor, too, but at least there was something new to display. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

But in HL1, wouldn't the dynamic lighting(on the world) be lower resolution, like the flashlight?
And the textures are pretty high res. Not super, but pretty nice.

I seriously hope this is still work in progress. Because the geometry, Models and detail is still HL1 standard. I thought they would at least have some higher detailed rubble models going on there. Oh well, at least the sound effects will be better. Right Maxx? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's rather annoying to be making something like DOD:S. Every day you have to wake up with hundreds of emails from people asking for pictures even though the stupid game obviously isn't done yet or else it would be out. So you finally fold and release pictures, which aren't perfect because if they were people would be playing it already, and then everyone complains because even though it's not done it doesn't look good.
If you're worried about it now because it's ugly, then don't play it now.
Also note no quotes on the improvements of DoD:S include any mention of models or other actual art content. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
they need new models and the flag model ekk

I guess working on Half-Life 2, CS:S, DOD:S, TFC2, and steam got to them. They are all VALVE you know (isnt it only 80 people or so?)
dont worry in next few months a few mods teams would have released something 10X better <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>....but....knowing Valve they'll probly just buy that aswell..</span>
i like chicken!

He's flipping right though, up until now there has been nothing but whining for screens or movies of DoD:S. Now, 2(TWO) screens are shown that so obviously give you a 100% accurate depiction of the game, and all the pleading for media is replaced by extremely negative feedback. flipping ungrateful is what it is.

Hey look, these people are actually playing it, and aren't just shooting their mouths off like you guys. Of course, if you had common sense, you'd know that a screenshot would never do DoD justice and therefore would know that seeing is NOTHING like playing.
