Do you want to keep that round top? Flattop might help by making individual smoothed areas smaller. I presume you use 3DSMax which is notorious for crapping up smoothing on lowpoly models if two edges are relatively close.
See attached pic. Assign smoothing groups as suggested and see what happens.
