"spongebob And Christians Don't Mix"

what I found..
I woke up this morning and happen to catch a tv commercial for Nightline, Primetime Live, or some other weekly special new report show that usually hooks with a line similar to "Find out what could kill you in your kitchen, tune in tonight on <insert obscure news show to catch viewers attention>"

Okay so this time it was for "Why Christians have a problem with Spnge Bob", and of course this juicy glimpse in to the future only lasted long enough for you to hear "Christians", "problem", and "Sponge Bob".. and I was thinking, "Oh what next? We had the Little Mermaid, Magic, Pokemon, and Harry Potter. What did the yellow sponge do?"

So I got on the net to see what it was, but never found what that particular news story was exactly about(surprise surprise). What I did find was equally entertaining:

It seems that our little yellow friend recieved some flak in the past. What did Paster Deacon Fred show to his church in "graphic detail" to his church?

Oh my what an imagination! The whole shebagabang can be found right heyuh

Though I didn't let some minor mishap that happened in 2003 scare me off. I found a Christian discussion board that just happened to be talking about a Sponge Bob movie review http://christiananswers.net/spotlight/movi...pantsmovie.html

Negative - I did not like the sponge bob movie! I went with my friends and was appalled. It had nudity, violence, and language. jack *** and Patrick's buttocks were frequent. There is even a scene where Patrick asks the mermaid if she wants to see HIS underwear. society should not tolerate these sexual innuendos from a movie projected towards our small children. I barely laughed even once. Squidword was the only character free from any guilt. I didnt not like this movie, and I hope no one has to spend $8.25 again. My Ratings: [Very Offensive/1]
--Melesia, age 17

Neutral - The movie is great, but I wouldn't recommend it for children under the age of 13. ...I personally enjoyed the SpongeBob Movie. My Ratings: [Average/3]
--Kaida Dahs, age 32

Maybe it should have gotten an R rating.

lmao

Oh wait...I am utterly shocked that Nickelodeon would do something like this! How distasteful!

Now for something more recently. In the beginning of this year there was a publication on Mission: America:

QUOTE

THIS IS A PARENTAL ADVISORY. Your kids are at risk of being victimized by this attack. I have not known of a more sublte, insidious or a likely more effective way to indoctrinate your kids to the practice of homosexuality than this one -- widely popluar children's program characters luring the kids to visit what appears to be a website with a blatant homosexual intent. At this point I wish to remind you of Dr. Judith Reisman's research:
Dr. Judith Reisman, a social researcher who has studied sexual behavior for 24 years, released a new study called Crafting **** Children which revealed that while heterosexuals outnumber they who chose to practice homosexuality about 44 to 1, the incidence of homosexual practitioners molesting children is up to 40 times greater than heterosexuals. Taking figures from a 1991 population study by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Reisman looks at heterosexual abuse of girls by men and homosexual abuse of boys by men. Taking into account the numbers of homosexual practitioners and the numbers of heterosexuals in the population, the data showed that 8 million girls were abused by age 18 by heterosexual men, a ratio of 1 victim to 11 adult men. However, 6-8 million boys were abused by age 18 by 1-2 million adult homosexual practitioners, a ratio of 3-5 victims for every adult male homosexual practitioner: 0.091 victim per heterosexual adult to 3 to 5 victims per adult homosexual practitioner.

And there is no "kind" way to put this ... pedophilia appears to be inherent with the homosexual lifestyle. The existence of the North American Man-boy Love Association (NAMBLA) is proof of it. It must be clearly noted that the report does NOT say every adult homosexual practitioner engages in child sexual abuse. Many have told me they could not even consider such abuse. But if only half of the folks who are adult homosexual practitioners engage in such abuse, that would mean the 3 to 5 victims per adult homosexual practitioner who chooses to sexually abuse children would actually be from 6 to 10 victims. And if only one fourth choose to abuse children, the number of victims rises to 12 to 20 per victimizer. If two plus two equals four...
Get invloved! Call your schools to see if they will be presenting this video to your kids. Don't be intimidated. You are free to opt your child(ren) out of such "training" if you so desire. And don't let them intimidate your kids for opting out.

After that statement I found more "Sponge Bob promoting homosexuality" content that lead me to believe that's what I will find tonight on ABC. I had a laugh at all the things I found(I would share more but you all get the idea).

Christians like to make a big deal out of stupid things. Like feeling guilty for watching porn.

Apparently the Landover Baptist Center is a joke website that makes fun of Evangelical christians. I bet there are really people that do get upset over totally obscure things like that though.

I don't think this really has anything to do with being christian. Rather it is just some people reading too much into a silly cartoon and getting overly angry about it. It happens with nearly every subject and every type of person.

I did see that thing on the news, or the preview atleast. It went something like "See why conservative christians are up in arms about Spongebob square pants". After seeing this I had to take a second, and thing to myself, had there ever been a time conservative christians weren't up in arms about something? Really, has there?

Wow... just... wow... You do realize, that if these people were to mysteriously die, and, they somehow found US as the culprits... no jury would convict us.

Please - show some faith in the US judicial system. We would be tried, convicted, and then sentenced.

However the full presidential pardons and congressional medals of honor are also sure bets.

Walking to school today, one of the headlines on my cities main newpaper was the following: "Spongebob makes your children ****, Christians say"

I thought about this, and came to the conclusion:

SHUT UP. These people just need to stop looking for flaws where are there aren't any, and even if there were, nothing that's going to make a diffrence. Really, just OMG. They need to spend their efforts on something that actually has ANY bearing on life. God. Just, wow, Im more amazed by people every day, just, agh.
