The idea is to give aliens a chance at closing in unseen, but becoming visible with their first attack, thus making ramboing that much less likely without of overpowering groups. Also, I agree with Nem0, now that I think about it. I hadn't thought about that before.
MCs are already considered an excellent option among higher skill echelons since the upgrades will emphasize your abilities significantly. Buffing it even further would thus not be that good an idea at this point.

Anisotropic Filtering makes skulks differ from the background, due to background textures being reduced to mush at a certain range. A high gamma makes it easier to spot and track moving objects by default.
IE. gamma is not directly related to cloaked visibility.
