Only downside are the expansion packages, they are not included. Well i don't care much about that, i'm having fun playing the game for free. You don't have to own a exp pack to have fun in this game.

    meh AO owns, ive been playing it for the past 3 weeks and i love it, practiced witha bunch of different chars and now im working on my 2 good ones..

    Anarkana - lvl10 enforcer
    Anarka - lvl31 soldier with an assault rifle that ANNIHILATES

    aye... have been playing ao WITH anarki for the past few weeks.. good fun... agent class is kinda dumb though.. didnt have a real great time with that char.. but ive got a lvl 30 engi and a lvl 10 enforcer and i guess theyre my best.. i dunno their names though.. prolly something to do with "****".. titanna or something

    Shame i dont remember giving them ANY bank details....

    And still, chances are if you play it that long youl end up buying one of the add on packs and paying anyway.

    I used to play AO. Haven't been on in about a year or so. I got bored with all the running trying to get to the action. My highest character was a 95 Solitus Omni Adventurer. I was pretty good at the hardware combinations for increasing skills. Amazingly, the Prima guide was extra useful in that department.
    If there was a decent travel system, other than the uber expensive vehicles, I would grade AO pretty high on the fun list.

    For the start i recommend the martial artist class, as breed choose opifex.
    The martial artist is great for starting because he is kinda cheap, you don't need to upgrade your weapons, nor buy ammo... you use your bare HANDS <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    He has also some usefull heals.

    Now i'm playing a lvl 42 doc because i was tired being in teams without a doc,
    downside: UBER expensive, because of frequent heal-nano updating.

    i started playing just before christmas, but haven't been playing recently(metroid prime 2 ftw!)

    it's not bad, but considering i've only ever played 1 other MMORPG(Savage Eden) i don't really have much to compare it to.

    raz0rrrr(yes, <b>4</b> r's there, somone else already had all the other variations, and now i look like some kind of pirate)

    This is horrible. I went through the corridoor to take a ship down to whereever I am now [with the salamanders and the crashed ship], only i was supposed to take the 'Jobe' walkway to learn how to play the game. And now I can't figure out how to get back.

    you can't take the jobe walkway unless you have one of the expansion packs(i forget which one)

    Basically, on that island, you can level up for as long as you want, but it's not really worth staying past level 6 or 7
    i left at level 3
    if you want to get to the mainland, go along the coast, through a tunnel, up the stairs and along to the battlefield, run across it(you won't get hurt) and talk to either the omni recruiter, clan recruiter, or neutral bystander and get a pass for the teleporters.

    i'd advise staying on the island to get a bit of XP and cash and do a few quests(there aren't many) then leave when you feel like it.

    Once you get onto the mainland, you just have to take missions from mission terminals, or just run around in the wilderness killing things.

    you right click the gun in your Inventory, then select a monster and hit Q, 1, or the little crosshair in the lower right.
