My roommate and I were less than wowed by the visuals in the first Stress Test for World of Warcraft, mostly because of the lack of shader effects. I was told that shaders had been removed in the build we were playing, and I was very happy to see that they were back in in this current Stress Test.
I also had the chance to play on two very different systems.... the first few shots are from the first stress test, which I played on my old computer - a P3 800Mhz with a GeForce 4 Ti4600 and 384MB of PC133 RAM. I slideshow'd even at 640 and low detail.
Shot 1: Bril, my Dwarven Paladin, riding a gryphon between Ironforge and Stormwind.

#2: I love this guy, because he shows that you can be very flexible with WoW's armor, character design, etc. This was a higher-level dwarven hunter and his pet raptor... but the real cool thing is that he wore no armor: just cloth pants, shoes, and gloves (I inspected him; no armor at all!). He had bad-*** written all over him. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Note: pets have since shrunk noticeably to keep them a little more out of the way.

#3: One of the last things I did in the first stress test was visit Darnassus on Teldrassil, the Night Elf capital city. I found an ancient and posed with it. They're big.
<img src='http://www.lunixmonster.org/hosted/coil/wow/ancient.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
These shots are from the new stress test... you'll see the difference, I think. My new system (thanks KFS!) is an Athlon XP 1900+ with a gig of 266 DDR RAM and a GeForce FX 5900XT.
#4: Pretty shader effects... check out those cobblestones! This is my Tauren Druid, Cail.
<img src='http://www.lunixmonster.org/hosted/coil/wow/cobblestones.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
#5: Here I am taking a zeppelin from the Orcish capital, Orgrimmar, to the Undead Undercity. That's the kingdom of Durotar that I'm leaving behind.
<img src='http://www.lunixmonster.org/hosted/coil/wow/zeppelin.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
#6: The Undercity was really unsettling, but this is just the entryway. Look familiar, Warcraft 3 fans? Go back and watch the human campaign ending cinematic and see if it rings a bell (no pun intended).
<img src='http://www.lunixmonster.org/hosted/coil/wow/Undercity.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
#7: As a druid, I get to shapeshift (but I'm sure you knew that). This is my bear form, which can be learned at L10. I have horns to differentiate me from the Night Elf druid bear, which has long ears.
<img src='http://www.lunixmonster.org/hosted/coil/wow/rar.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
#8: And this is the Aquatic form, granted at L16. It lets you travel 50% faster (but only in water) and breath underwater. Blizzard calls it an "angry seal."

Screenshorst!! lawl! *snort snort*
This has been a completely useless post...
I need some sleep.
LESS TALK MORE SECKS!!
What's a good place to train at? My dude is a lvl 7 warrior human and I'm in Elwynn forest and I have no idea what to do. I have been doing some quests but now the ones I am doing are a bit harder.
They are in no particular order. This one is after we arrived and decided to swim for 25 minutes instead of going by land, which is populated by level ?? creatures. Aka certain death.
Kind of walrus-ish, really. The screenshot doesn't do it justice; the animations are great.
Keep it on topic here, people. Screenshots.
Here's the fight that actually led to this raid being conducted. Revenge!
Can't wait to get my Troll Hunter one of those raptors. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Too bad I lost those screens from the 1st stress test <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> We did have hoard in ellwin forest, we died rather quickly, but we got in there.
But interestingly enough I though I might as well try to tell this short adverture I had in WoW.
Basically I was playing with an old friend of mine. We decided to try to get different races of the same faction. He chose undead. I chose Tauren.
Now the problem is that the Undead start at one side of the world and Taurens start right at the other end. And we wanted to like meet up at our low levels and level up together.
So I decided to swim across. Basically it would be like as if you were swimming from New York to London.
To keep the story short (because of no screenies) I walked all the way from the Tauren City of Thunder Bluff in the direction the Undercity was in a straight line. Was chased alot. Had lot of corpse collecting.
Then I reached the seashore and start swimming. Still had the dangers of the odd croc now and then.
And here is the clinker. When I finally reached open water (and prepared to permanently press the "move" key..hehe), the fatigue system came into effect. Basically there is a Fatigure bar that appears over your character and once it ends, you start losing ALOT of health fast.
I finally gave up the idea (and then i stumbled upon ships in Ratchan tht would take you and zeppelins in Origammar). Hehe but the exploring was real fun.
Heres a freaky fact-
Somehow, 35 Horde Rogues stealthed the ENTIRE WAY INTO THE STARTING AREA FOR NIGHTELVES.
Least to say, it was hours until there were enough of us to get rid of them- these guys were level 25+- and it turned out, they walked right by me(while I was in Auberdine. They swam all the way to Darnassus[note if anyone was wondering: It isn't really that far from Kalimdor to newby island. Some even said these guys had to exploit the game to get there, I don't know, but still sweet]...then kept going. Evading Sentinels the entire way).
It was a amazing feat, but one that took a lot of us to get rid of- me as my lvl 14 Nightelf Rogue self, had a definate hard time(thank God for the no-downside-for-me way of death)
can any one confirm this?
I only knew of the breath bar (same description, exept it is obviously for when you are under water).....
