Suggestions
I'm a real nub on mp3 players and which brand gives me the best bang for the buck.

Any suggestions on Mp3 players for about $120-150.

Its too bad your price range is so low, because otherwise I'd recommend an 30gig iPod. iPods just kick serious ****. Though, earlier generatinos are known to have battery problems, it is not yet clear if the new 4th gens do (AFAIK).

I know Rio and Motorol have some out there for around the price range. Problem is of course they all have crappy memory, 256MB is the largest if I remember right. They are both 139.99 to 149.99 ;-)

Sadly, for any size of HDD MP3 player, you're going to be dropping $250 or more.

So that's something to think about.

    I can splurge to 200-250 I guess

I have a Rio Cali 256 that works just fine. You don't need 30 GB of space, really - I personally don't make the entire run through all of my seventy or so songs for two days or so.

And if 256 is too small, you can always buy a flash memory card!

I only use about a gig of space on my iPod for music. about annother 4 is taken up with usefull utilities for multiple OSs.

If I had an I-pod, my entire 4 or so gig music collection would go on there, I'd also use it for backups when I reformat my HD.

If you live in a dodgy area, no iPod 4 U!!! You will inevitably get rolled upon iPod discovery and waste all your cash...

I never understood the whole iPod thing. All you're doing is paying for the name. Especially when Creative Labs [the soundblaster guys] puts out Nomads which are honestly nicer than any iPod I've ever seen.

I have one, it's a 40 gigger and I've put nearly all my cd's and mp3's onto it. I love that thing, practically sleep with it in my bed. It cost about 250, so I'm sure you could get a smaller one for cheaper probably.

    <3 Creative Labs.

I'm thinking about getting my sister one for Christmas. Any good ones come with FM radios built in?

I have a cheap little 256 mb player myself. Isn't great, but it's music on the go.

They are paying for a name. It's just some weird style thing. Like those people who try to define themselves by the clothes they wear... Chumps.

I think we all blame the canadians.
