Most cracking attempts originate from outside of the US. Notice I said originate. That means where the hacking attempt came from. Not where it appeared to come from. That takes into account proxies.
ffs why even argue this? I can pass you along to some of our network security guys. One of them even pulled up a hacker tracking mapfor me that he made for a presentation to the NSA that tracked cracking attempt originations and then linked it to the physical movements(sightings) of the criminals.
