    Ah, I love any excuse to look at pictures of firearms. Here's a gun similar to the LMG (German FG42)-

    <img src='http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/FJ6/images/Th2FG42.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    <img src='http://www.carbinesforcollectors.com/fg42.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Biggest difference is the length of the barrel.

    <img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/images/lmg_final_full.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> =)

    Here's something that looks like the GL (Russian 6G-30)-
    <img src='http://www.shipunov.com/eng/str/grenades/images/6g30f2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    The American OICW looks like the GL that's on the NS screenshots page (but isn't in the game, for whatever reason)-
    <img src='http://world.guns.ru/assault/oicw1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Here's something similar to the HMG (American M60)-
    <img src='http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m60mg-sa.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Again, similar but a much longer barrel.

    It doesn't really look like the shotgun, but this is noteworthy. The Italian SPAS-12 has some distinct similarities.
    <img src='http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/Spas12.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    Look at the stock and barrel, they're pretty much the same as the shotgun's.

    The one on the screenshot page is the old model/skin of the GL, back in the good ol' days when each clip had six grenades instead of four <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    And yes, that does remind me of it a great deal.

    ya I also thought that the Frenchy SPAS-12 is a bit similar to the Shotgun in NS but the NS Shotgun is way smaller than the SPAS
    Here's the SPAS-12
    <img src='http://double.uhome.net/gun/gun640/dgun/spas12_metal_stock_version.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    And this is the Shogtun in NS (does it have a name or designation?)
    <img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/images/shotgun_final_full.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    both do have the special handle to over-fold
  • AlienCowAlienCow Join Date: 2003-09-20 Member: 21040Members
    I'd say the NS shotgun is bigger than a SPAS, just look at the background pic for NS in Steam. The dude must be struggling to stand up straight.

    well the helmet exists in REAL LIFE, it's just not an actual piece of equipment used (that requirement was never specified).

    it's still a real prop whether it was used in a movie or not. =P

    Those new Canister vacuums look(and sound!) like the Jetpack.

    lawl.

    BTW: Wow, I didn't notice that all the LMG really is, is a modern day FG-42. Funny, being its such a common weapon in Call of Duty.
  • Lt.RealnessLt.Realness Join Date: 2004-03-17 Member: 27379Members
    ya that's true and the Pistol looks like a modyfied version of the Desert Eagle or stuff like that

    IMO it looks nothing like a Desert Eagle. It's more of a Glock/HK type weapon.

    Edit: Glocck
  • cannon_fodder11cannon_fodder11 Join Date: 2004-08-03 Member: 30339Members
    I think the pistol looks like pretty much any modern, semi-automatic pistol out there as long as they have laser sights attached.
  • DrummerDrummer Join Date: 2004-02-18 Member: 26654Members
    i have a custom pistol model that makes my pistol a Desert Eagle. i sometimes dont use my hmg cause my Desert Eagles sounds better <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Mmmm Glock has two "c"'s? I think not, good sir.

    But yes, it looks nothing like a deagle. Oops, that's my CS alter-ego kicking in. I can't really think of a pistol it looks like, because its rather tall in comparison to most real pistols, methinks. Maybe like the plasma pistols out of WH40K. But then that isn't real life, now is it?

    The TSA pistol looks like a Heckler Koch USP Match pistol, at least I think so. I think it's because of the underside of the gun barrel.

    There are actually knives similar to the TSA issue currently being made. I think it's a derivitive of the japanese tanto knife, which is what most people seem to say about the real steel blades shaped like that.

    Remind me again why side-loading guns and top loading guns don't seem to exist anymore? I can understand side loading guns not working because left handed soldiers would have to spin the gun around to load it proficiently, but why don't any assault rifles today load the magazine on top? Is there an ergonomic reason that makes it harder to manipulate and hold the gun if there's something tall sticking out the top of it? Come on you gun nerds, show off your knowledge of useless firearm trivia! Is this one of those situations where we have bottom loaders just because it's orthodoxy?

    When they make NS2, I hope they use the HK G11 as a model for one of the guns. Or the Herstal F2000.

    Wouldn't the clip a top-loading gun interfere with looking down the barrel? (Just a guess.)

    ya that's true! I'm actually a lefthanded myself and I got the lefthanded weapon models by delarosa =) And I thought about it when I read the NS story. The nanites can build every object very fast so why not a "mirrored" version of an LMG =)

    Yay if anyone knows what kinda knife it is ,tell me! I wanna have one with an TSA logo on it =)
