    My SS2 no longer works. If I enter a game, or even click on the "Options" button on the main menu, it bangs to desktop. I presume it doesn't like my ATI card. I tried all the hacks and the tweaks etc.. with no joy. Win2k, ATI 9800, AMD 2400. Sadness :(

    It's a lot more likely the Win2K than the graphics card. A friend had MAJOR problems, due to the game coming out before W2K, and not being designed to ever be played on an NT-based system.

    Try installing it on a FAT32 partition if you can.. that fixes a LOT of problems with games that act glitchy when installed on NTFS drives.
    Also, install any patches you can find. Multiplayer was NOT the only patch put out, though it was a significant one.


    Also, anyone going to be playing with the SS2:Rebirth models? I prefer the standard ones, myself. Especially the Midwife. The original is a LOT scarier than the remade porn-star wannabe. :b

    i tried rebirth but i didnt really thinck that much of it still good as it was

    doesnt affect multiplayer..you can play with it like normal in coop.. even if the other players using the original ones

    you just have to delete the midwife model out of the mesh folder.. ss2 will use the old one again. rebirth does not overwrite files.. it creates a "external pak folder" . peoples familar with quake 3 know this technique.. and yeah, the new one suck, but i could pull the skin off her face if you want, so it looks like the old one again <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Sure i need to test the mulitplayer to see if it works but it should be pretty damn good can any one host to see if i can join please?

    Zero, 192.168.*.* is a reserved IP block for private home networks. No one can map to that IP (aka, no one will be able to connect to your server) without extensive portmapping. It ain't gonna work like that.

    omg.. ive installed ss2 on my i: drive, and it must have fuxed up my harddrive. i cant access my i hdd without crashing my explorer...nooooooo
