It may be lag spikes that will do this. The lag compensation has to know your basic ping over time so it can incorporate the right amount of compensation for your particular ping. (at least, this is how I understand it to work) So if you're at say, 75 ping and then jump up to 140 all of a sudden, you'll appear to skip around because the lag comp loses track of you. I had some problems with this a while back when my ISP was having serious packet loss issues. I'd be fine for 30 seconds or so, and then suddenly drop a couple packets and warp all over the place, even on my own screen. It was a mess.

What does make people skip around to other players then, ive seen many times where 1 player on the server warps around the map and they are insanely hard to kill, and other players see him warping around too so its nothing on my client side. Most of the time when these players warp around there ping dose jump around 100 points, yet never goes above 200. Is it just other peoples unstable connection that casues this problem? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    That's called a bad server.

Low numbers with these commands on the clients will screw things up for other clients:

    "rate"

Lowering your rate however will make everyone else lag, but make you lag as well. THerefore it's not to your advantage to lower this number, but keep it high++.

Low numbers with these commands on the servers will screw things up on for other clients:

    "maxrate"
    "maxupdaterate"
    "maxcmdrate"

The lunixmonster is a notorous example of a server that has too low rates and makes it lag up the whahoo.

EDIT: ^ The lunixmonster is not an insult, but an educational statement about rates.
