I kinda just ignored the 13 year olds who came in and started shouting abuse (I was a favourite target half the time because I chat a lot and usually ended up killing the little beggars ingame a lot. Guess getting killed by the person they were calling a 'slut ho' a second ago doesn't make them feel any nicer about me XD ). The problem was though I just thought they were a minor epidemic; I had no idea the community in general would eventually turn that way =/
By beta 5 or whatever I was tired of the jerks invading the servers and when you add on the fact they changed my all-time fave gun rather drastically (commando) it just got too much and I left. I dunno; if the whole thing with bans working so well over the new steam system really tidies up the community I might get back into it just for a giggle but with the horribly bunch on the original CS probably jumping on I can't see it happening. Besides not every foul-mouthed lil idiot is a cheater which is somewhat unfortunate =P
It really depends what server you go on. In the sense of, every server you go on is crap. But if you know some good people who play, they might have a secret community that you can join.. It's a pity.. the clan scene is as bad as the pub scene now. I left cs about.. a year and a half? I don't know. Just before cs 1.6 came out] I'd been playing since beta 5.2, and pub was alright most of the time, and clan scene was good.. but now people just abuse eachother..

Sometimes its hard to tell a cheater from a good player though. Heck knows I've been booted off a german server for getting 7 headshots in a row through walls and doors and I sure as heck don't cheat. Neither does my friend who got a triple followed by a double headshot nor the other friend who has what people dubbed as 'rudeboy armour'; he seems to be coated in teflon or something that makes the bullets miss him all the time. I know they don't cheat because we all played in the same lab together =3
Once people get above a certain level of experience the stuff they can pull off is so crazy half the time it's hard not to believe they're cheating, hence why I try not to accuse anyone of cheating in most games =o

*sighs* CS, furthermore, CS:S is only fun when you have an aranged game with friends. Otherwise it turns into a hackfest/insult fest when the idiots who think they are the best "hax0rs" in the universe invade the server. Thats not even considering the ammount if "pro" players that play cs religiously, and hate newbies like they are the KKK.
The cs community truely died for me around 1.3. Before then, random public servers...were fun :o *shock horror*. After that..... cs just wans't fun anymore. Try and use voicecomm to help the team and its "shut the **** up you ****". Do well and it's "OMG YOU **** **** GO DIE". Do bad and its "YOU ARE **** ****".
Halo is about the only game where it's fun to play on public servers. Because it's almost impossible to play seriously - which for halo, works very well.
Another note about CS wallhacks - they are nowhere near as good as headphones/3d sound. Why? Anyways, I've always viewed cheats as something impossible to stop, because the cheaters are always one step ahead of the anti-cheat people. Although, I have that Joolz interview that Counter Hack did, and he said he stopped making cheats because C-D got really good. So maybe there is hope. Now, if only VAC could stop sucking.
These people get kicks from the misery of others. Take heart in the fact that these miserable swine will never procreate, laugh at their cowardice (I do nasty things to ppl on the internet who cant do anything back olo), but best of all, just ignore them. Personally, I hope they die in real life slowly and painfully, but the same applies to anyone who takes perverse pleasure from the suffering of others.

I hate to break it to you guys, but <b>cheating is fun</b>. Utterly destroying your enemy is great fun, and the reason in-built cheats are even featured in todays games.
A problem arises when people lack empathy, and don't care about other people/haven't ever imagined themselves in someone elses position. Then they go around feeling like other people are bots with incredibly advanced AI, rather than people who can look out from behind their eyes and see stuff, in the same way as you. Or in a different way. And of course, don't care when people complain.
Cheating to ruin others games isn't the main reason people cheat. Nor because they want a bigger e-****. It's simply too much fun to mention.

Servers are passworded, you have to register on the forums before you can play and put in your Steam_ID.
I get all warm and cosy inside when I hear people saying things like "unlucky" "nice try!" and "good shot" in a game of Counter-strike. I always had imagined it to be impossible.

Basically, cheaters suck. About 1% of them make the cheats, 99% of them use pre-made cheats. They're the same as script kiddies.
