    And I recommend the lot of you do the same. Jesus, theres no reasonable explanation as to why you should have such high compile times.

    Simple solution: Learn to use well placed hint brushes and compile time can actually go down. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    or, at least, learn to build architecture that...

    a. looks cool!
    b. works!
    c. with as few polies as possible
    d. is created in a rational way.

    why nobody mentioned "I bet on ebay."? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I sell the uncompleted .RMF file on Ebay to get money to make it compile faster.

    Except the one on EBAY has ten times the number of vis surfaces because for their own ease of use I put a 8090 x 8090 x 8090 box around the map with a texture at .1x and .1y size

    Seriously, do people buy (oddly enough uncompleted) .RMFs over internet? D: And how does it affect your map's compile times? <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I listen to some techno mixes... some are 2 hours long so I have enough to do while compiling.

    I often scream and yell at my computer wondering why it goes soooo slow when I'm doing other things on the PC while it's compiling. This 1024MB RAM, 2.8ghz processor should NOT GO SO **** SLOW!

    lol you must have some wierd geometry in your maps. i can compile some extremely complex maps in under 30 mins and i have a athlon 2400 with 512 mb of ram.

    ns_g0op_siege][ takes about 10-15 mins now and it takes up more than 1/4 of the grid in hammer
