<div class="IPBDescription">$135 million in damage = owned</div> <a href='http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/space/10/06/satellite.mishap.ap/index.html' target='_blank'>http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/space/10/06/s...p.ap/index.html</a>
I saw a picture very recently on some forum where it shows the satellite and its moorings. Sure looks like a hell of a lot more than 3 feet; was a tall monster that tipped over when they tried to move it, cuz no one noticed that the some dudes (the nightcrew?) had stolen the screws used to fasten it down.
For the life of me I can't find that picture and I can't remember which forum; it's not even in my History. The guy who posted it said it was his workplace even; perhaps the thread had, tangentially or not, focussed on workplace mishaps or something else relevant.
If anyone knows PM me plz or post; it'll be much appreciated.

I mean how do you stretch "It fell over" into a novel.
Wait, did it fall a large distance, or did it just tip? I'd think a lot of that is salvagable if it just tipped. But hey, I don't make satalites, I'm just a moron.

I think that would be harder break accutaly..... just heavy. Man 113 pages that report must have draged on for a while... "Joe during nightwatch stole 3 of 4 screws and thus made the big thing fall over. -Project Leader" Wow I beat them ^_^
either that, or NASA Scientists discovered that deflated and stretched out beachballs act as a supoer positron displacement shield.
Edit: SPEELOING ISHAFK MAIN FERNDS!

Because the sattelite is launched inside of something like a shuttle or a rocket, and it is then in space where there is no gravity, they can make it out of materials that would be considered quite flimsy here on earth. Like aluminum. They love aluminum.
Actually the reason things "float" liek they do when in orbit is not because there is no gravity, but rather because they are constantly falling at the same rate that the earth curves away from them.

What's going on here, then?
